This is a case where conventional wisdom is correct. While I would root for Joe, his heart, inside fighting & stamina would be pretty unlikely to compensate Tyson's physical advantages, chief amongst them speed, but also 2 handed power & chin. It can be overstated how slw Joe started-& at his peak he often did not-& Tyson had good endurance. But physically Tyson is a 2.0 version of the great swarmer, & peak for peak he might be taken out by the greatest boxers or sluggers-even those would be very far & few between-but no swarmer.

I have never minded being in the minority, and anytime 2 ATG's are pitted against each other I believe that an either or debate can be warranted....However the fact that the 3 biggest jokes on here elroy, foxy and of course yourself are picking the opposite outcome, I feel even more justified and confident in my pick! :hi:

Actually your posting history in general is why...again I believe either side of this issue is warranted and defensible just as I do when any 2 atg's are pitted against one another. :hi:

I was laughing at Philly calling you a fool.

Yes I did pick Tyson. I can imagine a scenario where Frazier would win, and that's based on the fact that Tyson's KO% drops to like 63% when he faced title-level opposition. No longer in the 90's.

Tyson clearly didn't do as well against top level guys. He was extended by many guys who should be considered inferior to Frazier.

I do believe Frazier is overrated, as is Foreman, and his record and performances against bangers count against him, especially here.

I still say Tyson smashes him, but I won't say its impossible for Frazier to beat him.

So are you saying this fight could go either way? Because thats not what your post says..The only reason I said anything is because I didnt really understand your pick of 12 rounds or more post. This doesnt mean I wanna go to war with you. Frazier is my ALL time favorite fighter as well so theres no other reason why I wouldnt pick him to win this fight besides I believe this particular bout is all wrong for him! Instead of being so defensive just explain it!

Hey an I love Smokin Joe ... But, he was a slow starter,he`d have to get through the first few rounds against Tyson, who comes out like a tornado
.Now if (and that`s a BIG if) he could get through those few rounds, and start Smokin... He would put a lot of pressure on Tyson and mixing in his hard body attack, could maybe get to him late after wearing him out. But, he has to survive the inevitable early firestorm form Tyson... That's a tough one ...

You do get that we ALL think Haye is a pretender as a heavyweight, right ????? Who the hell did he beat ? Then he stubs his toe in a Title fight and cowers for the duration of the fight. And you want to match him up with the true warriors of the heavies ? Damn, how dumb are you ???

Nothing is impossible! A puncher always stands a chance.

Even tho im a Frazier fan I can admit that he is somewhat overrated. He had a short lived prime and your right Tyson did have problems ( and Losses) to really good opposition

From your earlier post if Frazier could somehow avoid the early storm thats the only chance he has of makin outa this fight..I just dont see it happening

Southpaw, the one reason I can`t bring myself to call Frazier,overrated... Is that he did beat Ali in FOTC. He fought a monster fight (even though Eloy the village idiot says it was a dud) and beat Ali. That one fight and how he perfomed that night,I feel puts him right up there... IMO.

Although I picked Frazier always have and always will in this match-up a Tyson pick is certainly legitimate....my gripe is when you :huh as if no one else has a valid opinion...if you want everyone to agree sit a post to yourself! Mt post says Frazier wins, because that is my belief and my prediction. I didn't have even a minor issue with your pick, I had an issue with your :huh response!!!!

You believe this match-up is wrong for him, I believe it is right. I don't buy the stand up to the bully philosophy that many ascribe to in regards to Tyson....just that Holyfield and Douglas were 2 of the right guys at the right time to do so (moreso Holyfield). I believe allowing Tyson to have room, enables him to use that deadly body/upper cut combo (around Ferguson is about when I feel he does this as his most brutal!) and mid range skill. I think that by crowding and making Tyson uncomfortable Frazier switches that to his advantage. Will he have rough patches absolutely...which I is why I see the fight going 12+ whether scheduled for 12 or 15.

Frazier is my all time favorite and there are a few that I would pick to beat him....Prime=Louis, Liston & foreman and 50/50 Marciano and Holyfield.

There is only one joke, cum big time loser on this board, and that is the Philly dickhead who denies Joe Frazier was a slow starter.

Your imbecility is there on the other thread for all to see when you persistently claimed Joe was NOT a slow starter. :rofl:rofl

You are indeed in a minority. You must be the only fool in the world who associates himself with a city, claims to follow boxing and knows absolutely fvck all about one of said cities most famous boxing sons.
