Antonio DeMarco vs. Jesus Gurrola, 10 rounds @ light welterweight

 

Round 1

DeMarco is stepping in and placing the right jab on the head of the much smaller Gurrola. Right hand leads by Gurrola, picked off by the left glove of DeMarco. Long right jabs and feints by DeMarco, stepping in with a 1-2 on the chest and then crescent-turning in on Gurrola, pressing his shoulder into him to bump him off. DeMarco is rolling the right jab out into the forehead of Gurrola and pulling back with quick jerks to stay off the stubbier left jab of Gurrola. Wide right hand looped in by Gurrola, missing, and some hooks on the body as DeMarco twists away from him. Gurrola rushes in for more infighting and eats a big right check hook, knocking him back into the ropes. He is given a standing eight count.

Round 2

DeMarco is jabbing in on Gurrola and pushes him into the ropes with pinpoint straight lefts and right hooks embedded in his sideburns. Gurrola is dipping at the knees and scrambling away from the ropes before DeMarco can take advantage, sensing he is hurt and picking up his pace. Gurrola throws high left hooks from a crouch while bouncing up and down backing up. 1-2s by DeMarco pushing Gurolla up against the ropes. Stiff jab high on the head, snapping Gurrola's neck and reddening his nose. Big right hooks by DeMarco flung with ease around the high left jab of Gurrola as it falls short. DeMarco is exploiting his speed and reach advantages to the fullest. DeMarco sticks out his right jab, pushing Gurrola's gloves apart with it, and CRAMS a left cross in his face. Gurrola is planted on his ass, nose gushing blood, and unsteady as he rises.
