Breach of contract from who, Dempsey or the promoter? As far as I know this was a signed fight based on the promoter meeting his financial obligations, which he failed to do. If true, who broke the contract?

Bit of a ridiculous answer if you ask me, but haters are going to hate and that's all there is to it. Maybe Lewis ducked Toney too. It amounts to about the same thing. That said Greb is to me a top 5 ATG so I have a huge amount of respect for him, I just don't see how Dempsey ducked him. You can't be serious that fighters are suppose to fight everyone who spars with them, what about their ranking in the division and the business of boxing, surely those two factors have to be considered as well.

Greb beat Tunney to become the American Lightheavy Championship which most regarded as being superior, at that time, to the bauble that Carpentier, not McTigue, held. Greb also beat Levinsky at least 3 times when Levinsky was the belt holder.

Where is that written? Ducking means avoiding a fight. How about promising a rematch, turning down approx 30 million for the rematch and then retiring. Qwack, qwack, qwack

Actually, I can and have on the Classic Board cited numerous contemporary newspaper articles demanding Dempsey defend against Greb. If they didn't think it was a ludicrous idea at the time, why is it now? And the size difference is nothing relative to Lewis v Toney, nothing close.

Remember that Dempsey admitted he weighed a mere 180 for his fight against Willard. Greb, in his non-middleweight contests, often came in at 170. Dempsey's greatest title defense was against Gibbons, a guy who weighed in at 175, and a guy who Greb beat decisively in their two previous meetings. Greb beat Miske before Dempsey faced him. Greb beat Brennan about 50 times before Dempsey faced him. Same with Darcy. Same with Tunney. Hell, he repeatedly beat Fat Willie Meehan who mastered Dempsey.

Common Markus Beyer ducked every body... And he held wouldn't leave Germany, he fought bums, got away with very controversial decisions just to keep his title and he treated like god in Germany since his retirement ....

Utter bull****!!! Calazaghe cannot throw a legitimate scoring punch, he slaps which is ILLEGAL!!!!!!!!! I was at that fight & 80% of ringsiders & press made Hopkins the winner. Yet another example of bias officiating :fire

For once I find myself agreeing with the majority here

Bowe-Lewis was blatant and abhorant duck. Bowe was literally scared shitless of Lennox

Mayweather-Paquaio is just as blatant and abhorant. The ever growing list of Floyd's ridiculous excuses are hilarious. How anyone still supports him amazes me

Another blatant duck was Calzaghe-Hopkins rematch. Slappy knew he got a gift decision Hell he hardly threw 20 LEGITIMATE scoring punches all fight long
Then he was offered a rematch at home in Wales in front of his loyal supporters. What a way to thank them than for Joe to put an end to the contraversy and beat Hopkin s LEGITIMATELY in front of them as a farewell from a champion? But what does Slappy do? Shoots a finger to his fans & retires like the cowardly fraud he is.

Yep Ive name 3 blatant duckers
