Can't blame him, this was his best chance to make some serious well deserved money.

Maidana should hold GBP's feet to the fire and insist on receiving a huge pile of dough if he has to fight Broner once again.
If GBP says no then Maidana has a reasonable excuse to make Broner and GBP wait.
GBP's interest lies in Broner's future NOT Maidana's.

Maidana wasn't going to beat Floyd anyway. He can make a decent payday as champ now and Broner will make less than Maidana. The shoe is on the other foot.

When he beats Broner again he could hopefully fight Floyd in September then it woulda been a good year money wise for him

If Broner somehow wins then Broner vs Floyd in September

This has everything to do with Broner having a rematch clause in the contract. It has nothing to do with GBP or Mayweather. Maidana agreed with the original contract that stated there was a rematch clause and now he has to deal with it.

I get that he wanted the bigger pay day, but he goes out and takes care of business again then there will be even bigger demand for him and Floyd.

Floyd couldn't sell Maidana like he could sell Khan. Floyd's a saleman and looking for the low risk high reward sales pitch.

No, this wasn't his best chance at the payday he was already going to lose it to Khan. His best chance is in September if he can blow through Broner again
