The die hard Mayweather fan’s will say that Martinez is too big for Floyd, but is he really? Martinez rehydrates up to 168 pounds on fight night. Mayweather’s former opponents Oscar De La Hoya, Victor Ortiz, Robert Guerrero, and Saul Alvarez all rehydrated up to around that same weight and even more. De La Hoya was actually bigger than Martinez when he fought Floyd. Floyd has been giving up as much as twenty pounds to his opponents, so why all of a sudden does it matter now?

If the five foot seven inch Miguel Cotto, with a sixty seven inch reach, isn’t too small for Martinez then why is the five foot eight inch, with a seventy two inch reach and presumably best fighter in the world, Floyd Mayweather? If Cotto is up to the challenge then why not Mayweather?

This is just part of the reason I don't rate Flo(e)yd as high as others do here.

    ...but I digress:pop

Sergio is too big for Cotto. For that matter Austin Trout and Margarito were as well, just that Toney has **** movement.

Agreed. It is a cliché but Mayweather does pick and choose; he has for years in order to keep his 0 intact.

Hmmmm... because Cotto is bigger then Floyd.

Height and reach dont dictate weight.

    They dictate height and reach.

Yeah and Mayweather is the champ @ 154 and fought there 3 times. Fought a prime cotto who can be ''unshot'' when Mayweather fought him.

If Cotto pull this one off, it will be impressive...Mayweather will be happy, Pacman will be happy, PR will be happy

If Martinez wins, The plot gets more complicated...Mayweather might take the risk of facing an older Martinez

I expect Martinez to come to try to KO Cotto from the get go...He can't do the same with Mayweather
