Floyd posted on his facebook wall a few weeks ago : "why do I have to fight marquez's leftovers?"

he didn't use arum as an excuse, but made an excuse anyway even though he knows damn well how important this fight is to both their legacies

Yes of course it does, there was no reason for the fight not happening. It was the biggest fight in boxing, it would have broken all PPV records and the fans wanted it. Some greats have not fought others during their time due to it not being lucrative or even using the risk/reward excuse, you can't use it for this fight the financial reward would have been huge.

But even with this tarnish to his record Mayweather still has a great legacy it's just not what it could have been.

The best fight the best, Period. All the excuses (true or not) will be forgotten in time. Its quite sad, he could have been the GOAT or close - but he chose money over legacy, so he wins anyway in his eyes, but another "what if?" for the sport of boxing.

Both their legacies will be tarnished. Floyd does rank ahead of Pac in terms of resume, but without a Pac win, he won't rank above guys like Leonard/Cazoneri/Whitaker and those guys. If he does get it, then you can argue it for him.

Im hating on both of them (more on Floyd) for not fighting yet. Both of their legacy will be tarnished for not fighting each other. Boxing, fans, Pac and May needs this! I would pay $150 for PPV just to see this fight!
