This shouldn't be an issue. It's getting ridiculous considering Szpilka has been in the US multiple times, twice last year...

Great news! It was almost like one of the rare good HW match-ups fallen through.

That's wonderful news but let's not toot the horn yet, because now he has to get a waiver from the Border Control which may be no less of a challenge...

    From today

Here's a basic translation (from boxing scene):

HE said that all things went great in the Ambasady and he thanks them very much, he got told that he will get all the documents needed but the only issue here is time(He got his visa already, he is waiting for the waiver). He told that he is excited again after two days of feeling a little down, he is on skype with his trainer (who stayed in the US), he has(had today) the last sparring session, everythings looks like he is flying to the US on Friday, he also told that one week is a optimal time for him to get used US timezone etc and he ll be 100% ready. He also sait that he is "sitting on the Pins" (which means waiting) which was kinda funny. Some trash talk to Jennings as well.

Also the Thursday deadline is not real according to his promoters.

Szpilka is a good test for Jennings. Szpilka is not all that bad. I would not be shocked if Jennings loses this fight. But if he wins he shoulld be close to a title shot. He has already did more than Wilder.

Supposedly he got busted during a soccer riot in Poland and spent some time in the local Big House. Technically, that should disqualify him from getting a visa. But, as has been noted, he has fought here before and should be fit to go.

As for the prison jump suit he wore it at a match in Chicago vs journeyman Mike Mollo who twice knocked him down. Szpilka packs a good punch but his defense may not be all that great. Will be interesting to see if his D has improved with the passing time.

I expect Jennings to win the fight, but I hope it's not because of Jennings referee, judges, boxing commission, venue, etc. That fight should have been fought in a neutral venue. I remember a fighter clearly knocked Jennings down and actually hurt him, but the referee called it a slip! Wilder was afraid to fight Jennings, Thompson, Chisora and who knows who else. This should be a good fight even though Jennings has the home town advantage...........just hope there is no foul play with the judges, referee, boxing commission, etc., as I am tired of crooked, fixed fights. As long as the fight is fair, that is all I ask. Szpilka is was too easy to hit, but Jennings can be hit also, so this might be a good fight.............
