From 2003: "LAS VEGAS -- Attendees of the annual MENSA Convention in Las Vegas were enthralled by this year’s surprise keynote speaker, Mike Tyson. When the heavyweight boxer heard that the convention was being held in the Las Vegas casino where he is living, he crashed the gathering, stormed the stage and began speaking to the assembled conventioneers. Tyson held his audience spellbound as he juxtaposed Kierkegaard’s acceptance of God’s existence despite an absence of proof with a counterargument offered by rapper Apani B-Fly Emcee, summarized in the quote “We came through, now we up in here, Estragen, feel the estragen.” Conceding that he stood on the shoulders of giants while developing his philosophy, Tyson takes full credit for the final product, which he refers to as “rapin womens and beatin' up people.” After the speech, Tyson graciously participated in a roundtable discussion with John Nash, Marilyn vos Savant, and Stephen Hawking. Nash, sporting a new tattoo of John Von Neumann on his bicep, opened the lively debate with praise for Tyson’s succinct treatise on Kierkegaard. Tyson responded, saying, “John, I totally agree with you that we find some surprising results on the C1-isometric imbedding into an Euclidean space of a Riemannian manifold with a positive definite C0-metric.” Hawking then joined what was clearly becoming a love fest. “Mike, apropos to Hubble’s formula Ho = v/d, where, of course, v is the galaxy's radial outward velocity, d is the galaxy's distance from earth, and Ho is the current value of the Hubble Constant, do you believe the existence of black holes are now a given?” Tyson, clearly caught off guard, responded violently. “Say, what chu talkin’ bout Ho and black holes `n ****?" Marilyn vos Savant, attempting to mediate, tried to explain Hawking’s position, but Tyson would have none of it. “Yo, ***** . . . Don’t be sticking your nose into our discussion or I might just bite it off.” The two had to be separated, but not before vos Savant landed three swift kicks to Mr. Tyson's testicles. After the two combatants were subdued, many MENSA members questioned the intelligence of inviting Tyson to join the roundtable. "I wasn't surprised," complained self-proclaimed MENSA member Sharon Stone. "It was something that was bound to happen. Everyone knows that Marilyn is very unstable." © 2003 www.BSNN.net All Rights Reserved. Reposting to message boards or discussion forums permitted only with this message intact. look, mike is not some scholar, this guy has serious mental problems from childhood which cannot be rectified, because he himself does not believe he has a problem! Do not believe an ill mans ramblings!
You can tell he is eloquent and learned but his accent, lisp, appearance, notoriety, profession and fighting style hides it..
mike tyson, has no credibility whatsoever, if he did he would off left the streets behind him many years ago! All he did was blame others, why can you not see this?
Yes, its fantastic! My boss was telling me yesterday he was watching a recent interview with Tyson and Hatton that he didn't think he would enjoy but ended up getting into it and thinking Tyson came across really well. With all of the knowledge he had from watching all the old Jimmy Jacobs tapes he woule make a great commentator if the TV networks would give him a chance. I'd love to hear him calling a fight.
The man is dyslexic if i remember rightly. why is there this sanitsing this guys past, when he made no improvements in his adult life? Cus, was at fault her, just ask teddy atlas!
I agree. Just because he's crazy doesn't necessarily mean he's stupid. To me Mike Tyson has always seemed of at least average intelligence, just with emotional and other issues.
I love it when people assume Tyson misuses "big words", when in fact 95% of the time he is using them correctly and demonstrating more grasp of the language than the anonymous twits who poke fun at him.
I love it when he said " I broke my back" and the commentator says " tell us more about the injury Mike" and Tyson says "spinal" lol
Using "big words" and lisping isn't a match made in heaven. Tyson should let his fists do the talking.
[yt]SnxNnJYziMY[/yt] This video was brilliant. And the funny thing is, at 1:37 Mike says, "The worst student in the history of speeching." If you look it up, "speeching" is actually a word, and he's using it correctly.
