not to mention wlad only dared face Thompson's middling ability when thommo was getting on. a prime Thompson would be much more even against wlad, in that wlad wouldn't be able to gass him out.

Bowe beats up bums and has a slugfest with a former LHW.

Bowe gets brain damage from a B level Andrew Golota = HE WASN'T IN HIS PRIME GUYS.

Riddick Bowe was just age 27 for the first fight with Golota, right in his PRIME.

Bowe was age 26 when he took 6 rounds to KO Herbie Hide, Vitali stopped Hide in 2 rounds. And Riddick was age 25 when he went the distance with Larry Donald, who was stopped by Vitali.

Head to head Bows takes him at their respective best. He simply did everything better. Wlad is comfortably ahead when bit comes to all time standing. His longevity and consistency trump Bowes greater wins.

Nobody wants to know about Wlad now , who is going to remember in 15 years?

Bowe was a super star when he was active.

Holyfield is better than anyone Wlad beat.

Hide and Gonzalez...nah, and your argument about an undefeated record and Amateur credentials doesn't cut it. That's the same stuff people use to big up Vitali's opponents.

In truth Hide was a great CW puncher but overall pretty below average as a fighter, he got into the rankigns by taking advantage of Bentt, a tomato can who lucked into his spot with a bizarro upset over the erratic Morrison. He wouldn't be a top 10 win for Wlad, and really isn't even a top win for his brother.

Gonzales never amounted to anything in the pros and looked like rubbish against Bowe. He got into the rankings because 95 was such a crap year, he didn't have to beat anyone of note. I would take McCline over this pretender, as he at least got some decent wins over Briggs and Michael Grant to earn his ranking.

Convenient how you leave out Bowes three wars with prime ATG holy field and what that took out of him. Anyone who has actually fought before (unlike a sickly boy) can tell you how much fights like that can take out of a fighter. You can ask any trainer worth his salt and they'll tell you the same thing. Either you don't know this or simply have another agenda

Bowe was in poor shape for the first Golota fight, but than again Holyfiled I was the last time Bowe showed up in any kind of decent shape. We are just talking degrees of fat, 240-252, he was just not in great shape. He still got by on his durability and power, but really didn't beat anybody of note again save a very ill Evander.

He got in better shape for the second Golota fight, but came out stupid, got caught with a nasty shot and took a horrible beating in the second round, he never had his legs under him again but was able to endure until Golota screwed himself, he got the win but the beating he took ruined him.

Bowe was a pretty frustrating fighter, he was exciting and had so much potentional but he never developed the necessary ring IQ, defensive skills, or discpline to be a long term success.

How was Holy field "very I'll" for the final Bows fight?

He was in far greater shape in the first fight. He was scrawny , malnourished and looked like a zombie in the second.

It took a great deal of skill and defence on Golotas part to fight Bowes fight first time around. He slipped , bobed n weaved and counterd Bowe. Skills and technique Wlad has none of.
Even with fighting the fight of his life , Golota was almost ko'd in the 4th and as Bowe came on strong again later in the fight , Golota tapped out cos he couldn't take anymore.

-I wouldn't go that far. He certainly wasn't fat and jolly.

-Well Golota was the smaller man against Bowe and had to bob and weave, I can't say Golota was more skilled than Wlad but your dino and I expect such statements from you.

-Nah, I don't see Golota as being almost ko'ed. It didn't even look like that good of a knockdown from what i remember. He was hurt but not ready to go.

Golota felt he was ready to go and tapped out. I'll take his opinion over yours.

Golota was the same size as Bowe and was a complete and well rounded fighter. Wlad ins't.
