Broner is being mishandled

Looks like it's more Broner's choice than his management at this stage. He has two options, either risk it all in a rematch or move on(Amir Khan style, minus the countless "trainer" and "weight" excuses) fighting others at 147 or 140. He clearly picks a rematch because obviously legacy and pride means more to him.

 

I don't know that he matches up well with Devon either honestly. Devon likely wouldn't be able to hurt him but his speed is on par with Malignaggi's(if not better) and he's a better technical boxer than Paulie. He also takes a decent shot. I could see Alexander edging that fight in a pretty boring affair. Broner really needs to go back down in weight if he can and try and refine his boxing skills a bit.

 

if broner beats maidana in immediate re-match, he can say that he had an off night the first time and now he's back on top. If maidana loses to someone else before broner rematches him, that loss is gonna look really bad on broners record.

It's a smart move to rematch him right away. People are forgetting that minus the knock downs it was kind of a close fight and maidana was ready to go in the 12th. If broner makes some adjustments, he'll beat maidana fairly easily in april.

 

yea he is he should of followed the advise of mayweather who said he should duck hard fights

 

This could be a good move if he can win the rematch. It definitely shows he has guts for him to want the immediate rematch. I think he will do better the second time around. Does he win it? I'm not sure, I just think he should be able to avoid that overhand right better next time around. He will definitely box more.

If he does win, what does he do from there? I don't think the future is very bright for Broner's boxing career above 135. I can't see him troubling the top guys at 140. I don't think his power is good enough to justify his close range, flat footed, low volume style at 147 or 140. The Paulie fight raised the question about his power above 135, and the Maidana fight answered it imo.

If nothing else, it will be entertaining to watch what happens with his career.

 

was thinking the samer thing.. however if he pulls it off then the reward is big... on the other hand if he loses it could be even more damaging than the first loss... for that reason I agree with you but he's going for it... in all honesty hope he gets pummeled by maidana again

I don't know about mishandled but what I do know is he got manhandled by Maidana!

 

atschatschatschatschatsch 9-3 in rounds, 2 kd's and numerous other times he was hurt isn't a close fight. Sound like a deluded AB fan. maidana is going to brutalize him again and i can't wait.

 

Alexander aint no walk in the park himself .

The dude is highly skilled , he aint no banger like Maidana . But he would very likely shutout Broner .

 

Alexander would outclass Broner. One thing for sure, it would be a scream fest. Both of those guys make a lot of noise when they throw punches.

 

Even without the KDs I dont really see how it was kind of a close fight....

Adrein won MAYBE 4 rnds at most , He was competitive at times YES . But thats about it . There was even 2 rnds where judges couldve scored 10-8 for Maidana when Broner chose to not let his hands go and just cover up and let chino tee off on him .

He was nowhere near ready to go in the 12th , he was visibly gassed though .

 

Yeah LOL Thats true . Alexander likes to be very vocal with anything he does .
