Unbeaten welterweight Franki Gavin has inked a new promo deal, extending his tour with Frank ****** with a pact that promises the 28 year old a world title shot this coming year.

Gavin said: "I'm extremely happy to re-sign with Frank and continue to being promoted by him with my fights being televised on Boxnation".
"He's the best promoter out there and has promoted my career brilliantly from day one".
"I look forward to keep producing the results in the ring and remain unbeaten and bring back a world title".
"You oonly have to look what he did for Joe Calzaghe,Prince Hamed and Ricky Hatton in their careers just to name a few, he makes opportunity's happen for fighters and i know that he'll get the world title opportunity for me and it looks like it will happen this year".

Well that's good news as Franks a world champion in waiting if you ask me.

I hope he does win a world title, nice fella. Has immense boxing skills too but seems to lack a little belief for some reason. We're yet to see him against good opposition but if he has the belief in his skills and confidence to beat the top fighters at welter he is capeable of doing it. Needs a big win against a big name and then I believe he'll go on to do great things. WAR Frankie!

    :rofl

Gavin could well win a world title but he will always be in the who needs him camp unless he becomes more entertaining in the ring

Be interested to know if I was alone in becoming very worried by Bradleys comments about the concussion following the prodnikov fight.

When you have made the kind of money and proved what he has and have family etc, when things like the prodnikov experience happen its time to plan the exit strategy which I hope he is doing.

Bradley is a shart asstute guy who is good on pundetry (calling the fights spelling ****).

Would really like to see him walk away despite how good he looked against Marqeuz.

He's proved he's a top fighter despite 'losing' to Pacman.

Seems like a real good guy, please don't finish last.

Sorry for spelling but the sappy sentiment is real. I may be a bit smashed but I mean it. That is a staked divison where he can take punishment in a lot of top 10 fights.

Sorry know that was off topic.

For the first time really, Frankie really impressed me againt Vassell.

I thought that was a real acid test and ultimately one that I thought he may fail (happy to admit I was proved wrong.

I will always think that Frankie's lack of size and fairly major lack of power at this weight will get him in to trouble.

But his skills are really awesome to behold when he turns it on. There were times againt Vassell where I really was just mouthing wow.

A lot of people said that when he thoughtlomax but I didn't really see it (maybe because of the view I had there at I think it was the york hall.

I had a pint with Lomax after the fight (guiness if anyone cares what he drinks lol, and yeas I bought) and he really felt gavin was going to struggle at the weight with his power. The fights that Lomax has had would put him in a good place to comment. He also said though that his accuracy rather than speed was amazing!

Due to Frankie having a similar natural movemnet and footwork pattern IMO.......

I think he could do a lot worse offensively than to look at Lucian Bute (obviously not against Froch and the 1st Andrade. Gavin has excellent timing from where I am sat and I don't think a lack of it is the reason for the lack of power (as it is in my opinion with Cleverley).

The lack of power seems to me to occur more because of a habit of not commiting fully on the shot. Clearly there is balance to be struck between commiting and over commiting and I think it is this he struggles with.

I'm sure there is a trainer out there who could get this working for him.

Sorry for the long post which probably jus rambles.

I'm alowed a pissed night and this is probably it!!!

Yes he certainly lacks a bit of power what he has is the accuracy to help make up for it.

He is a fighter that divides opinion i certainly think he can go all the way he works out the opponent quickly distance wise & works off it.He has a real boxing brain in that regard big.big year for him time to step up.

Frankie is class. I have always questioned the weight class issue. But he is there at WW and thats that. Can he win a world title? For sure he can, he will rise to the occasion.

Good luck Frankie and FW / Box Nation, bring the title back to Brum!

Being realistic Frankie is one of the best 'boxing' fighters to come from Britain in a long long time. His accuracy and speed are phenomenal. Against certain opponents recently he looks a class above but he seems happy just to sit that level above rather than take it to a level they can't live with.

His best performance last year was against Vassell where he was highly impressive it was an exciting fight where he countered and sometimes out fought him. Those fights are the fights he needs not Junior Witter (though he had to to win the title) and David Barnes who are carbon copies of Frankie in a sense.

This year is a big year and I think he should start it off with a fight against Bundu for the European. I honestly believe Frankie can outskill and out work him. He can catch him with sharp accurate shots as he comes in. Then he needs to look at a way of pushing himself into world title contention.

I have no doubt he can do it but like Rigo and Ward at British/European level at least Frankie is too good for his own good.

Bad move, IMO. He'll be fighting nobodies within a few months.

Gavin should have gone with Golden Boy all those years ago. That's gonna be a massive regret of his when his career is over I reckon.

when he steps up to world level he'll get utterly dismantled. fish eyes can't afford to bring him anyone decent, he'll keep on fighting obscure opponents who aren't even euro level.
