i think when the furore dies down he will still be remembered as a British great every fighter has controversial fights at the time time message boards will go mad but in the end the facts tend to come out and the waffling dies down and people speak a bit more evenly about what went on.

He was getting hammered early, fought back to make it more even, Groves was getting untidy in the 9th, the ref stopped it too soon. Not been a fan of some of the remarks froch has made after but hey ho he can say what he likes

The only time i remember this happening is with hatton the grief, negativity and personal insults he got after the pac loss was unbelivable

 

6 Months Ago Froch Was The Man In The UK It Crazy How Much Its Changed After The Groves Fight & He Was A Warrior In That Fight Still Dont Know How He Got Straight Back Up & Kept Fighting After That Knockdown. Usualy When Someone Goes Down Like That They Never Beat A 10 Count , Froch Was Up In 5 Seconds Smiling the guys A Warrior .

 

whatever people think of froch the bottom line is he has been great to watch, 4 time world champion and he has given the british public some really proud moments, yes fame has gone to his head but you have to respect what he has done and as the previous poster said not many people could take that much punishment and fight on. Truly hard man and doesn't deserve to be hated, we all loved the way he beat taylor and said a fight is 12 rounds blah blah blah same with groves same rules apply

 

One of the best british fighters for the last few decades, all the idiots on here that slag him off, makes me laugh

 

Great fighter Nobody can take away what he has achieved, some people may not agree but his resume is better than calzaghe imo

To expand, I have no real problem with Froch but I do think he, the media and some of his fans overstate this whole warrior thing. Yeah he'll fight anyone (Well almost) but he's a professional prize fighter, that's to be expected. Just because there are some duckers out there, people act like not being a ducker is some big deal when it should just be standard. There are plenty of boxers who are afraid of no one, while Froch deserves credit for being one of them, I don't think he's really that much of a rarity in that way. Same thing with the fact that Froch has heart and never gives up in the ring. It deserves credit but isn't that rare and should be considered quite normal. I also think Froch's resume is a bit overrated. I'm not saying it's bad or not good, just a bit blown out of proportion. I find Froch entertaining inside and outside of the ring and have a lot of respect for what he's done in boxing but I think certain things get a bit exaggerated with him.

 

This fight might well happen if DeGale dethrones Bika and doesn't run from Groves which I think he might well. Groves has beaten him twice already and has dramatically improved since that fight. Can we say the same thing about DeGale? No. He's been struggling past opponents he really should be doing a number on if he wants to be taken seriously at world level.

 

Just because Froch avenged the defeat to Kessler it doesn't mean that "Ward is the only person who can beat Froch". He still got beaten by Kessler. You are using Froch's logic whereby he seems to believe that because he avenged the loss then the first defeat doesn't count as a loss. "onlt been beaten once and that was by pound for pound number 2.. Warrior, Warrior etc. etc."

 

Frochs popularity nose dive is akin to John Leslies,Barrymores and Mel Gibsons......sometimes when you are in a hole somebody needs to tell you to stop digging and nobody seems to want to take the spade off Froch at the moment...i honestly thought Hearn would have given him a few PR lessons

that said ,i dont blame Froch for not taking the Groves fight ...its a much harder option to go against 99% of public opinion than it is to go and get your face smashed in again

 

I appreciate Carl over the years he has given many great nights of boxing entertainment,what more does a boxing fan want?

 

Exactly, appreciate what he has done in the ring, it will be a long time before we have another 4 time world champion, yes he is a pr disaster but a great fighter and would win the rematch if it happened imo

 

:deal Agree bit of a knob outside the ring but has been in some great fights, respect for that

 

Why do people get so angry if someone doesn't like a fighter.......I respect Froch as a fighter but the more exposure he has got the more I have disliked him

Just cause he is a tough fighter doesn't mean he can't be called a twat
