    Yes stay busy fight. It's obvious the top talent are avoiding him like the plague so rather than rust he is keeping busy AND making a title defense. They are not mutually exclusive. I for one am happy it's always better when a top fighter fights more than once or twice a year as ggg plans on doing.

    HBO is making Golovkin a star. Golovkin would beat all the middleweight champions, but getting one of them in a ring with him will be difficult. If Golovkin keeps rising as he has been, eventually HBO will pay enough money to get him a fight with Martinez, Quillin, Geale, Sturm, etc.

    But with this logic, Jeff Lacy was a totally good shout and to this day still easily defensible for high ranking on P4P lists heading into the Calzaghe fight. And I could make a case that Giovani Segura deserves to be top 5. Or Zou Shiming top 10.



    Bottom line is that on any respectable P4P list he ranks below several lesser known guys in: Estrada, Uchiyama, Ioka, Stevenson, Froch, Hopkins... so on and so on.

    There has to be a caliber of opposition that the "true skills and talent" are properly displayed against otherwise your opinion and lists will only ever prove to be meaningless. While judging opposition is also entirely based on opinion, at least less so than the entire judgement being based on how well they work out in the gym (which is what you are saying when you say that ANY competition can show top skills).

    When Geale defended the title against Adama he was a horrible, inexcusable opponent which showcased how the Aussie held the title hostage and milked defenses over nobody after nobody.

    Years pass while Adama does nothing to increase credibility as opponent.

    Golovkin signs to fight him.

    All is good and understandable among same fans who echoed first statement of this post.
