ill give u my breakdown and prediction. bute is not the same fighter mentally and phsically. pascal is stronger mentally. bute gonna run around, use his feet, pascal doesnt cut down ring as well as froch and doesnt have awesome footwork but hes gonna land eventually. hes too fast and strong not to win. pascal wins. put your money on it.
agreed. i'm with pascal he's got a pretty impressive resume at LHW saying bute is "not the same fighter" doesn't really cut it for me he never did beat anyone of note at SMW, and the one time he did step up he got slaughtered if bute manages to win, i'll be impressed. but I really expect pascal to win this fight
by not the same fighter, i mean hes not as confident as he was before froch. hes probably got the froch KO in the back of his mind. you could say pascal is the only guy to have fought twice vs bhop and not have his career collapse after . they both arent great defensively but bute is better. better foot movement but still not hard to find, defenitely better upper body movement and better unison movement of the two. pascal gets tired late but i dont think bute will take advantage of that. bhop did. hopkins fought out of character and pressured pascal. pascal used lateral foot movement and expended energy. bute last fight vs grachev was close. bute is 3 years older than pascal dont forget. he gets tired too. eventually, bute gonna get tired and hes gonna be on the ropes bobbing and weaving. froch is so accurate and he sparked him when lucian stayed on the ropes.
Pascal fought the superior competition and didn't fold like a cheap lawn chair in his first test at world level. Bute not only folded, but he got absolutely fking DESTROYED! Pascal is going to repeat the glorious night in May of 2012, and SHATTER the glass that Bute harbors.
odds are pretty close at the bookmakers, im gonna have to bet on pascal to win at 4/6. gotta watch the weigh-in again though. its helped me keep a good prediction record.
Fight is a complete enigma for me Both men have large inactivity streaks and in their last few neither has looked good Pascal has looked bad in his last few Bute got pounded by Froch and struggled mightily vs Grachev Vs Grachev I left on a more optimistic note than most due to how he finished the 12th round he seemed to have restored confidence in his ability to fight and looked like he did when he defended that IBF belt 9 or 10 times....but that was so long ago both men have been injured and have had disheartening losses, Bute to Froch and Pascal by old man Hopkins in a huge stakes fight and Hopkins showed him up Most here seem to think "Pascal should rush him and stop him by round 5 like Froch" this idea seems to ignore the fact that Bute is no soft hitter The longer this fight goes the more it favors Bute, Pascal to me has never fought a real true complete performance since Diaconu..Froch he tired, both Hopkins fights he grabbed an early advantage and blew leads, vs Dawson he was beginning to fade a little. Bute has all the tools to win this fight but he will have to avoid/survive an early onslaught Im curious to see where the liver shot plays in, Froch kept his right hand in perfect placement and took that punch out of the fight...I do remember a body shot coming in and Froch winced for a moment but then fired back at Bute mighta been round 2 If Pascal hurts his shoulder forget it, he wont win with one hand I gotta say I feel safer picking Pascal but feel Bute will perform very well in this fight
Not quite, I don`t deserve the praise, There will be a lot of men wakeing tomorow in the morning to see the fight here.
Saturday night will meet two fighters. The momentum shape and mental will be important. Yes, Bute didn`t have any impressive fighter beat at 168 but has impressive victories. He defended his title 10 times during 4 years anda half.If he was an easy target why anyone of note didn`t go in Montreal to just take his belt? Bute, as Romanian is a figter of moral.Ambiance, selfconfidence are very important for him. We`ll see together if he`s back.
As the fight draws near I find myself wondering how Pascal will react to a Bute body shot??? (One of those left uppercuts to the gut) I'm sticking with my initial Pascal by stoppage but...
Pascal has some bad habits. Some of them will make him walk into Bute's best contra-punches. The question is, can Bute chin hold up to get to that point where he can take advantage of those flaws? Or can Bute reflexes and footwork can keep him safe. Bute needs to put pressure on him for two main things. Test his stamina, and get him to do those mistakes he does.(eg. lose balance, duck into an upper, miss and be vulnerable to a counter-JP has bad accuracy) Basically Pascal will have two moments when he'll walk into Bute's punches. When he will attack wildly(I don't think he can help it) and when he will duck some of the straight punches and the rain of jabs. Bute practically needs to trow punches, lots of them, even if that means taking risks. The advantages are bigger than the risks, and you have to take risks to win. The key here is Bute trowing 1/3 more than Pascal. The advantages will be: Frustrating him, make him uncomfortable Making him open up for counters Testing his stamina (the pressure will also exhaust him mentally) Winning on cards and probably more than I can think of right now Don't sit, wait and hope Lucian, make him open up. Take the first 5-6 rounds with activity, technique and moderate aggression, make him tired on the way. Push him in a situation where he needs something desperate from the 7th or 8th round forward if he doesn't fall from counters until then.
