This is the best post on Mayweather I've ever read. It sums it up perfectly. If you want to be a legend in the fight business you have to fight competition who is either at your level or above. Not to always talk about Duran, but did anyone think he'd have even a chance of going the distance against Hagler, a legit top 5 ATG middleweight? And yet he stepped up to the plate. He also fought Barkley a fighter virtually nobody thought he would beat given that Barkley had beaten Hearns not once but twice, and he shocked to world by beating him and of course his fight against Leonard was one of the best wins of all time. But when you push yourself to the limit against bigger, stronger, younger fighters, sooner or later you're going to meet your match, fans just want to respect someone willing to do that.

So that's the difference between a legend and Floyd, not talent, Floyd's got plenty, but balls. If he had balls he'd fight GGG at 160.

You must be a relative of Floyd's hoping to get a few bucks off him. :patsch

At best, Floyd cracks the top 25.

For sure! That is a great career, no matter what anyone says. Besides, it's all subjective. I'm sure there are some well respected pundits that will make a good case for his placement in the top 10-15.

The only thing i would say to you is u do know that no matter who he fights he will be a favorite right? so how do u guage a risk then?? If u wanna say the lowest favorite hes been then it was the Canelo fight when he was -260. other then that hes been a 5-1 and higher against everybody, hes just that good.

When May-Pac was possibly gonna happen Mayweather was -115 and Pac was -105, meaning Mayweather was still a favorite

fighting GGG at 160 wouldnt mean anything. hes not even the lineal champ at the weight. and have somebody leave a weight class doesnt make then have ballls. Hopkins was a middle weight king foreverm theres plenty of ATG that stayed in one weight class and defened there title for years. so to say Mayweather doesnt have alls because he doesnt go to 160 is dumb as hell!! He already went from 130-154

Great fighter, but the only reason hes undefeated is he picks his fights. Guys like Leonard, Hagler, hearns will go down as greater than Floyd (which IMO they all beat/ trouble Floyd in a head to head fight). Why are they arguarbly greater when they have loses and Floyd doesn't? They fought EACHOTHER!
Granted Mayweather doesn't have those 3 guys in his weight class, but beating Pac is a good attempt at getting to their level. For gods sake the man was scared to death of a plodder like Margarito!... Granted, I still to this day think a guy with an iron chin, no fear, a big punch output would expose Floyd. Look what Cotto's pressure did to him (floyd said it was the hardest fight in his life)... Now think if that were Margarito instead.

At any rate, Floyd does get some respect for some of the guys he's beaten and obviously he's one of the most skilled boxers of all time. IF he wants me to give him his due, quit talking smack about others boxers and then refuse to fight them.
Somebody said after he'd retired he would be appreciated like Tyson (LOL!). Sorry, but Mayweather doesn't have highlight reel knockouts for people to watch, or wars like Pac. Somebody in 20 years is going to watch some of his fights and think "This guy is boring!" .. like they do now.

Former SF Oscar stepped up and fought a dominant MW champ in Nard.

So why can't Floyd do the same and fight GGG @ 160?

Martinez is #1 at MW, Oscar was colossal at those lower weights.

Floyd has done plenty moving up....

Let's see GG try it....he's fought enough smaller guys as it is....time for dude to grow a pair.

Time for those foreigners to take some chances.

...and Oscar was never a MW
    Floyd isn't himself at 154, so 160 is no-go
