Sugar Ray had slightly better skills, and more than edges Floyd in handspeed.

Leonard is a much much better puncher, way better hook, right, jab, bodypunches, better in combination and a better athlete. He has better lateral movement and quicker feet.

Floyd has the far better defense, better at hiding shots, better feints, better at setting up counters and better timing.

    Both are cowards and overrated

    Leonard tried to copy Ali
Had some good wins early but ducked his best fights until they were **** to ****
    Excellent skills
    But aged really poorly

Floyd copied his daddy, toney and sweet pea
Had some good wins early on, but ducked anyone with a pulse during his prime
    Excellent skills
Probably has aged better than any boxer in history

Ray Leonard was the Olympic Poster Boy.
Looking at his first 10 fights or so ---- they were digging his opponents out of the graveyard.
Both Floyd and Leonard were skilled.
    Floyd had a better defence.
Leonard had a busier offence, not necessarily better depebing on what you are looking at.

Seriously? Leonard started out against better opposition than Mayweather did. Mayweather didn't face anyone in his first ten fights as good as Leonard's second opponent (Fireball Rodriguez).

I give a definitive edge to Hopkins at 49.

Check his records. Leonards first 10 opponents were real bad. Floyds definately much better.

I've seen nothing that suggests Floyd is more skilled than Leonard.

yet another myth passed on by the liars

why lie about it when we all know leonard was 6-5 fave?

Floyd was and is brilliant, still unbeaten at 38 while Leonard was outclassed by the first boxer he ever met with speed & slick moves

compare the two at ages 38 & age 34 and see who's ahead. Floyd has done more, won every match that has counted and has never come close to being whipped

two more opponents were dug up out of the graveyard in 1989. it wasnt until 1991 he had his first live opposition and look what happened. didnt look so skilled to me

Floyd at 38 has got those skills and the wins to prove it

don't use the manipulate to suit your own agenda when your doing it too Intentional Butthurt,,,,,, SRL did have a better record as a AM and that's what you made a point about FIRST for your AGENDA claiming it was untrue

As well SRL's run at the Olympics was more impressive than Floyds, Floyds was great, plus he got robbed, regardless, SRLs run was more impressive match for match.

I've seen both of their records. Leonard's second opponent was better than any of Mayweather's first ten opponents.
