I'm as concerned for his punch resistance as his mentality at this point. Takam rocked him with shots lighter than what Mago was nailing him with....could be another Brewster-Liakhovic case where neither man's the same afterward.
It was either 5-5 or 6-4, good scorecards from the judges, these idiots in up roar shouting robbery etc it was a close fight, everyone had it 5-5 or 6-4 and so did the judges, nothing to see here.
Perez won 5 rounds, so it's a draw. Boxing is not about how bad you get beat later in the fight, it's about how many rounds you win. Takam looks like the winner coming out of this fight, but he won about 5 rounds. So it's a fair decision.
It was, but it doesn't matter because the result (a draw) was fine. I do agree that 6-4 Takam is far more reasonable than 6-4 Perez. The 4th and 5th were close (although I felt the 3rd, where the cut originally happened, and which Lederman gave Takam, was still clear for Perez), The 6th-10th were all very clear for Takam. The absolute best Perez could've hoped for there was exactly what he got (on my card and two of the judges') - a draw.
Draw is not a bad decision, but Takam won his rounds more decisively. Perez hardly landed flush power punches at all, whilst Takam had too many to keep track of in those last rounds.
