God no. If Bute was scared to throw with Pascal. Imagine how he would fight against the guy that did Ko him.
Bute's effort in the last few rounds probably earns him one more big fight; while Pascal likely faces Stevenson down the road in an another all-Quebec showdown. Of course the winner of that is likely going to be steered toward a fight with Kovalev, so it's tough to say that either of them win in the end...:think
Even though Bute can't pull the trigger, he was able to pull it in the last few rounds especially the last round so you never know
85 to 22 edge to Pascal in body punching, that says it all. That is Bute's game, and Pascal beat him at it. People kept talking all night about Bute needing to jab, nah, he needed to keep pouring it on the body. The jab bothered Pascal a little when he did throw it and did cause the swelling, but it obviously wasn't enough to get the job done by itself. Now, if Bute were throwing - and committing to - as many body punches as he normally does... Too bad he was scared of doing that.
man these guys that work for Sky really dont know **** about boxing. i dont give a fk if they were world champions. they are **** pundits.
So much DKSAB at sky i can not believe it, they must have been WBO "champions" or something like that
Since snuff films aren't legal, I'd be morally obligated to alert the authorities if I knew HBO was going to finance one.
I feel like the Pascal that was explosive and gave zero ****s about his stamina would have blasted Bute out easily.
No. Pascal is much faster on his feet than Cloud. Cloud couldn't move fast enough to get in position to throw. Pascal will be able to. I don't see Pascal winning, but he will do much better than Cloud.
I don't think that the body punches would have been a solution. Bute didn't put enough weight in his shots and it would have hardly won him the rounds. Also it would force the exchanges to happen more often and Bute doesn't benefit from that stuff. He seemed too scared to throw anything until the late rounds. If he had established the jab at the beginning he would be the one winning the rounds and making Pascal frustrated. Also, Pascal did nothing special there, he was on the benefit due to Bute's low output and if Bute was jabbing and moving all night, Pascal would have been completely outboxed and Bute would've won the fight comfortably. If nothing, Bute would have at least outworked him. Other than that, it seems that Bute is done at the top level. He should have one last big fight and retire in my opinion. Also I have no doubts that he is better and superior boxer to Pascal, he just can't pull it anymore.
