i haven't scored the fight as i never do it live, i wait until the next day. but my feelings is that Pascal did enough to take it in what was a very boring fight.
I was a little bit cheering for Bute. Pascal won, easily. It was close. But Pascal did enough to won the vast majority of the rounds. Quebec's commentators were also biased in favor of Pascal.
Big bute fan, an no doubt a tune up after a injury would of made a big difference in this fight... Saying that I had it 112 for bute an 117 for pascal, I could even have it 113 for bute with it being also 116 for pascal. (even rounds of course) Bute just didn't jab, never got it going, didn't throw upper cuts when inside. I think pascal let bute get the last few rounds to where him out, I think this fight could of been even bigger UD by pascal not trying to bait bute in... Saying this, Bute 3 years ago would of stopped or beat pascal very badly, but that was then this is now... If bute wants to be serious about going on, he needs about 3 fights with lighter punchers, were he can build his rhythm back. I don't think this loss was cause of the froch fight as HBO kept saying, but just over a year out of the ring an against a guy who wanted it more, was just to much to ask for tonight. I have never seen bute taged that much.... Bute doesn't need the money, he has to ask himself, does he want a belt, if not give the fans a farewell fight to remember you by, an leave the game worth millions.... other wise get a few rounds down, an bait a belt holder in for a big payday in Canada...:good
One of the commentator has predicted a Bute's victory. You are biased. Also, the ref missed a pretty clear knock down in round 8. Pascal won all the rounds except the last.
I said the rounds were close, fairly, but Pascal did clearly enough to win. I said it: Pascal won easily.
Good call by the ref on that one. Very clear rabbit punch, followed by a forearm push and (I think) tangled feet.
I read it in IB's RbR yesterday, I mean WTF?! Jim Watt has irritated me for a while now, cause it's not only with bad scoring what he does. It's clear bias for one of the fighters, incorrect and/or onesided commentating and extremem repetition of the same lines and calls. And to make matters worse he does all that with a very irretating accent. If I watched a fight on Sky the word "puncheees" rings trough in my head for a whole day. Pascal won 9-3 on my card. (117-111)
Watt is delusional. At one stage he said: "you can't talk to a Canadian fight fan without the name Froch being mentioned". :-( Yeah I'm sure that's the case.....
