How is it misguided? Out of the guys I named, what am I wrong about? I can only go on what is put out in front of me, and the names I named are the primary ones--and they have fallen short in a lot of people's opinions.

Well, if you're gonna criticise the quality of Quebec boxing ('cause as we said the rest of Canada isn't in the picture), you have to compare it to demographic and economic equivalents.

So... Are we better than Switzerland, Belgium or Israel?? What about those invincible Swedes?

It's an observation. Yes, you are better than the Swedes. And the Gotdamn demographics and economics aren't a consideration. If you think that's the reason, then that's on you.

depends what part of canada. I'm from vancouver. mma is more popular here than boxing. but mma isnt nearly as popular as it was 2-3 years ago.
in quebec boxing is really popular but the rest of canada it's not.

most fighers are from the province of quebec

If they didn't "seem to have it" we wouldn't have over 3 big names in the sport. Please **** off with your baseless negativity elsewhere.

Canadians are generally softie pacifists so it lends to their demeanor in athletes.

Pascal and Bute are big fish in a small pond. The rest of Canada could really care less(or at least the majority of them).Quebec is a unique market for French speaking fighters and the fans give them great support-but surely after last night's "fight" even the fan boys realize their fighters are not elite level boxers.
Stevenson may surprise us,but very likely will be KO'd the moment he faces Kovalev.

For a small country which is not interested in combat sports, we have produced some amazing fighters...

    Lennox Lewis
    GSP

    GTFO!

They had a huge crowd last night, who cares how popular it is in the rest of the country? It's popular in Quebec and when you factor in that provinces population they promote and produce good talent.

why would the Brits be butt hurt over a Brit winning a gold for Canada? doesn't matter what the colour of the flag is, just the man behind it... which was British.
