After years of hype, can we finally agree that Bute was just never that good?

Wasted a lot of our time
I kep't reading about how good he was so I gave him the benefit of the doubt until last night.
No doubt about it, he's average.

The truth hurts does it not?

Bute was always average, a hypemachine.
He got sparked off in the amateurs and lost quite a few fights there, so those of us who have been following him longer than a few years know he's not good enough to cut it at world level.

Now that he's lost his two step ups horribly, can his fans fvck off with the racist, derogatory slurr whenever I call him a hypejob?

I think Bute is a gentleman, I am happy he made the money he made, because he never was that good to begin with.

Being a champion means nothing. There are always soft champions. He is an average fighter. No need to be a blind, nut hugging ******.

The hype went too far, but now the hate is, too. Let's not act like a guy that's clearly past his best now was that same caliber of fighter his entire career.

Johnson, Bika, Zuniga, Miranda, Andrade, and Berrio isn't an ATG ledger of wins, but you're not going to beat those guys (mostly by knockout) if you're a bum or simply average. And, even though Froch murdered him, at least he had the balls to go to Froch's back yard in the first place.

Bute was exposed by Andrade, a C level fighter.

Bute was good against feeding off C and B level opposition, his best win probably being Sakio Bika but he was never Elite A class.

Well, it's the only conclusion, isn't it? He is nowhere near as good as people expected. That much is sure.

When you can't pull the trigger your shot, hope he can get a few more money fights and retire.

I expected more. I'm still annoyed he was blackballed from the Super 6 (even from being an alternate). Not only did he not get to participate, but it gutted the division of the other available top fighters.

Nine title defence. Beated the actual WBC belt holder. Kessler ducked him, Ward also.

Froch took his soul. Even Froch said it in his post fight interview.

Well he got has far as his chin could. Now he's just too afraid to trade shots (and maybe with good reasons). Was a good run for him, but its over now.

He didn't "stay out of it" like there was an invitation and he declined.

He was kept out of it by the people organizing the tournament. Big difference.

Good not great. I think Froch's beating left Bute as damaged goods.
