Because one (drug testing) has an actual impact on the fight itself as far as ensuring a level playing field while the other (fighting for free) is a lame and blatant PR stunt.

But apparently in your world, 'unprecedented' request are now okay and are no longer tied to imaginary cowardice nor a fighter's 'pride' as long as charity is involved.

    Just stop. :verysad

This is how the public perceives Mayweather and his legacy will be heavily criticized when it's all said and done

I believe Mayweather is both brilliant and reckless at the same time

He is a brilliant boxing businessman. He is a genius in the ring.

I don't think anybody is questioning his earnings right now. He has figured out how to get the absolute most out of his fights. He also has the money team clothing line which i think is generating pretty good money right now. He also has his own "promotional company"

BUT, when those 50 million dollar paydays stop in 2 years, what happens then? He does have a promotional company. But other than Floyd Mayweather, he doesn't have any top notch fighters right now. I wouldn't exactly say that is successful at this point and who knows if it will be when he is no longer fighting. The clothing line is nice. BUT, will it still be successful after he retires and is no longer in the limelight to promote it? It doesn't exactly have the legacy of Air Jordan.

    We will see

My statement has nothing to do with taxes, lame. It has to do with the 'everyone' that YOU stated would 'roast Mayweather' for turning down this PR stunt who would now be at every Pac presser asking about how much of his purse he's giving to charity for that fight.

    Keep up, lame. :verysad

I thought Floyd was under the assumption that the "Playing field" would NEVER be level because he was that much better than the little PAC MAN? So much so that he needed extra testing on this guy who was supposed to be "light work".

Floyd could step up and prove he isn't ducking PAC......do something good for people who are less fortunate and turn his image into something that is MARKETABLE after boxing if he were to accept the challenge....So we'll see...

What's sad is if Floyd decides that he needs another obstacle to throw up to prevent this fight from taking place.:-:)verysad

Floyd has to fight for free now because of some midget's marketing ploy? LMFAO! Hokay *******! Let's see how much credibility Pac has by donating his next fight to charity. Surely a man who is doing it for people less fortunate than him doesn't need Floyd to do that. Pac made 18M against Rios. He'll make at least that his next fight. That's a lot for typhoon victims!

Who said he has to fight for free....Floyd has a choice here. No one is holding a gun to his head. Just like no one forced PAC to negotiate with Floyd after his demands and accusations.

Floyd didn't need PAC to take drug tests for him to take that stance in "Cleaning up the sport". He could have faced PAC....and if he whooped his ass he could have said that his intentions were honorable in wanting to do right by the sport and bring attention to the drug use. Why not just let PAC do the urine tests and a few blood tests and make the fight in 2009?

So Floyd Mayweather jr offered Manny Pacquiao $40 million with NO PPV SHARE but I thought Mayweather doesn't want to fight Pacquiao if Bob Arum is still with him? Mayweather knew that Pacquiao was still contracted to Bob Arum at that time.

What will be Mayweather's next excuse?
