First off all credit goes to Pascal and this is no way downplaying his win but do you guys feel Froch ruined Bute after that devastating KO or was he simply never that good to begin with? is Pascal underrated?

Hell, Andrade beat Bute but the ref kept the belt in Canada.

Bute never struck me as a top flight fighter. Same goes for Pascal. They are good for their local market but not much more.

Exactly. These guys are regional fighters, nothing more. And Bute has a glass jaw. As you correctly point out, without a friendly ref, he would have been KOd by Andrade a long time ago.

Imagine you are walking into an arena where you are the overwhelming favourite, up against a "crude slugger", and a baying crowd - and proceeded to get the utter **** beat out you. How would that make you feel?

Andre Ward has long lacked the balls to do such a thing (such a shame as the guy is phenominal)

Now imagine that scenario when you know that you are a protected hypejob who was saved from a ko in a previous fight. I mean come on, can we please stop making Carl Froch out to be some beast who ruined Bute when everybody with a pair of functioning eyes could see that the Canadian was way overrated and very fragile. Even Carl knew this, he knew damn well that Bute wasn't all that and him and his team saw an opportunity to beat a weak champion knowing the casuals would buy the hype surrounding Bute.

Look at how Froch is now running from a fighter he knows is a real threat to him, George Groves. But he was more than happy to fight him when he thought GG was a chinny, inexperienced kid.

So no, Froch did not ruin Bute. Bute was exposed by Andrade which most people brush under the rug in order to inflate Froch and his achievements even more. Give it up ffs, it's embarrassing.

Btw I would say Andre Ward is more afraid of getting robbed in the UK as Froch has been gifted two wins already.

im too tired to take another Froch hater to school

Ward is the better fighter. Carl cant beat someone that good - just as he could never have beaten Calzaghe

What makes Carl so Epic is the guys fought - Taylor, Abraham (Froch arguably ruined him), Kessler x2, Bute (Froch definitely ruined him)

I think Bute had already hit his ceiling, the Andrade fight is evidence of that

Froch isn`t the greatest fighter out there, but he indeed ruined Bute. Bute was never that good to begin with. He was matched carefully with the aid of Marlon Wright. But, Froch did indeed ruin Bute.

Let's not kid ourselves now, Pascal is far from being a regional fighter.

Bute wasn't ruined by Froch, he was exposed. He went up against real competition and it turned out he has trouble against real competition.

Bute was a good fighter until he lost to Froch. He could have beaten Pascal if he had fought like he did in the 11th and 12th rounds...............however, neither Bute nor Pascal belong in the light heavyweight division, they both would get knocked out by Kovalev, Stevenson and Shumenov, and probably lose to Hopkins they weakest boxer in the light heavyweight division..........

Bute is Jermaine Taylor's twin. Pavlik knocked all the confidence out of Taylor and he became gun shy. Froch did the same to Bute.
