He ruined his confidence for sure. Pre-Froch Bute would've beaten Pascal.

But then again Pascal not as confident following his 'Alien abduction'

Was Taylor gun shy against Froch and Lacy?

Yeah, Froch ruined Bute, but Pascal hit him with everthing and the kitchen sink for 8 rds, and Bute never went down except being forearmed in the throat, then tripped, then hit on the back of the head while he was trying to catch his balance.:D

If anything, Bute looks better now, than he did vs Grachev. Which is saying a lot, b/c Bute could return better than ever having the confidence that he could throw so few shots while taking so many, and still not get KDd.:think

pascal has been in with several world class fighters, bute has been in with one - and he got sparked
what makes you think bute's padded record was good enough to beat pascal at any time?

I have to agree. Andrade gave Bute a scare. I don´t know what´s wrong with Pacsal. Is it as simply as lazyness ?

Pascal is clearly beatable. The Bute of the pre Froch fight (say the one that beat Glen Johnson) beats the post Hopkins Pascal.

I think if Bute had a bit more self belief he could've beat Pascal the other night. He's too scared to pull the trigger, and Pascal can't fight relentlessly for long periods like Froch can.

nonetheless, bute was only in with one world class fighter and it ruined what rep he had. pascal went back to the well time and again at LHW

I said before this fight that I would be surprised if bute won this because its one thing looking good against second tier opposition, but its another thing when you step up against proven performers

bute stepped up twice in his entire career - froch and pascal - and he stunk both times

Bootay's career at the top is deader than a side of ham.

It was a terrible career move to come to the UK and fight Froch in hindsight.

He probably would've been better off fighting Ward after the Super Six because he would obviously have lost as well but he might not have been damaged to the extent he was against Froch.

regardless of any agreement ward made regarding bute, to me bute's fight with froch needed to happen before a ward fight - either that or fight kessler
otherwise, its giving a free pass to the legit title that the other paper champs 'gave up' their belts to compete for

I don't see how bute fighting froch could have been a terrible career move, since he had to step up at some point
but just like Nathan cleverly, the paper strap and the hollow 'world champion' tag that goes with it disappeared too. I wouldn't be surprised if cleverly goes the same route
