Khan's a far bigger name, a far bigger draw and has been in with + beaten far better opposition than Kell.

Brook has to kick on with his career this year.

This, I saw him doing pads yesterday no head movement at all and when moving out his hands were still down

The fight would be target practice for Mayweather

I agree with most of this, except khans last fight was at welter, khan got the hype coz of silver in Olympic games, and if we re honest he more known for his defeats , and at the time ,wild card gym, fair play snd well done but politics aside does he deserve a shot at welter champ before brook? Def not

MANILA, Philippines – Golden Boy chief executive Richard Schaefer is hard at work as he tries to finalize a boxing match between pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather Jr. and British star Amir “King” Khan for May.

Mayweather has yet to announce an opponent for his May 3 fight at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, although it has long been reported that Khan landed the high-profile bout and the huge payday that comes with it.

“We are working on that. I’m working very diligently,” Schaefer said in a Boxing Scene interview. “Floyd Mayweather works on his own time clock.”

Although the fight has not yet been finalized, Schaefer could not help but tout Khan’s abilities and present him as a capable challenger against the unbeaten Mayweather, who walked through his two opponents in 2013 – Robert Guerrero and Saul Alvarez.

“It is a fight that I would love to do, because I do believe that Amir Khan has the skills to shock the world,” said the promoter.

“I don’t think it would be such a big shock to us, because I have always said that I do believe that Amir Khan, although he had a couple of setbacks, is still one of the best fighters in the world and has the potential to become the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world,” he added.

Mayweather has acknowledged that a Khan fight makes sense business-wise, noting the boxer’s huge fan base in the United Kingdom and in parts of Asia. Khan, for his part, has repeatedly said his speed will play a factor against the American.

Schaefer reiterated that the final decision will still be up to Mayweather, although he vowed to “do whatever I can to get this fight done.”

The promoter also revealed that Mayweather is set to make his announcement regarding his next opponent “in the next seven to 10 days.”

I see Khan coming out fast winning 4 or 5 rounds until coward figures him out and times him with a left hook. I hope I am wrong and Amir has made some adjustments under Virgil. the one thing I like about this fight is that Amir gets hurt in the exchange and coward doesnt exchange. Also when Amir gets hurt he usually loses his legs and the move up to 147 should help with that.

So I take it Golden Boy is promoting this fight? I guess this is their job to hype up Khan then and I got caught up in it after further thought. I keep going back and forth thinking Khan has a chance. I just cant get his speed out of my head along with his chin...

No khan fight is ever garbage. He has the skills to make any fight interesting and the chin to get knocked out but the heart to get up. Makes it interesting as hell.

It's garbage from the perspective he doesn't deserve it and will be badly schooled.

Its a better fight than maidana I will tell you that. Who wants to watch another flat footed fighter come straight at Floyd and eat straight right hands??? Atleast Floyd will have some things to figure out against Khan which will give us a few interesting rounds to watch. Plus there is a chance of a knock out either way.
