I would like to hear some other REALISTIC names that would provide the entertainment value Amir Khan will provide. Some other fighters that have a shot at getting the fight that will be more entertaining than Khan?????? dont give me Manny either, the fight has no realistic chance of getting done. Dont give me Maidana, weve seen that fight a million times already (flat footed straight ahead fighter getting picked apart by floyd) and dont give me Garcia because he said hes not ready. So if not Khan, what fighter has a realistic shot of giving us the entertainment value Khan can possibly provide??????

How does Khan have a better chance of knocking Floyd out than Maidana? He doesn't. Just because Khan has fast hands doesn't mean he knows how to utilize that speed. Especially against one of the best defensive fighters ever. Khan can't counterpunch to save his life.

How long did it take Mccloskey with the shoulder roll to figure out Amir Khan's offense? He just couldn't counter. Throw in Floyd's sharp counters and how does Floyd have to make any adjustments at all? If Amir wins even a minute of one round it will be because Floyd was bored or a fluke. Amir does not vary his blitzing offense 121212 and he doesn't have a broken off rhythm. This is why he has been timed so often despite all that speed by slower fighters. NOTHING to figure out for Floyd.

God, I forgot about the Mccloskey fight. Good point. It's even more of a mismatch than I could have imagined.

Amir will steal rounds just on pure output alone even if he doesnt land them all cleanly its hard to judge a fighter with the speed and output of Amir. Fighters with the speed and output like that often get rounds they shouldnt.

You dont really need to counter punch a fighter like floyd to much. He doesnt exchange. Im not saying you dont need to counter at all but you can def get away with doing it less.

I think Floyd's clean counters will keep him from opening up and khan will get himself knocked down rushing in. He will look more like late round khan against madaina and Peterson than early round khan because floyd will make him pay from round one, scared to throw like Oscar was against Pac.

Geurerro has a high work rate ... Usually. Not against floyd. Khan has great athletic talent and often amateur strategies. Floyd has great athletic talents and genius strategies.

Everyone is assuming we will see the Amir Khan we saw a year ago. What if we see a different Amir Khan? One that has listened to his trainer and one that finally has the legs to take a punch at 147?????

Khan can't take a punch and for all his gifts he doesn't learn from his mistakes. That has been proven time and time again. His last fight he was easily timed and nearly stopped multiple times by Julio Diaz. Let me repeat that. Julio Diaz. Khan offers no threat to Floyd. The only question about the fight is whether or not Floyd can generate a highlight reel knockout with his safety-first style, and my vote is yes with Khan as the opponent. The fight is a joke, and should not even be a consideration, but because it's Floyd, it's very likely to happen.

Khans problem in taking a punch (with the exception of prescott) has been his legs. The move up to 147 should help that. Combine that with the fact that Floyd is not a big puncher I dont see a knock out happening.

Floyd vs Khan is a great fight for Floyd. This is the kind of fight that will move Floyd toward the all time #1 spot...the GOAT.

    Conflicted about this fight.

On one hand there's NO WAY Amir Khan deserves the fight.

On the other, Khan probably has the best chance of defeating or giving Mayweather one hell of a fight since the first Castillo fight.

People who don't understand why Khan would be a terrible style match-up for Mayweather just don't get 'Style match-ups'.

So i'm totally against this fight on principal but i'm actually hoping it happens as it's the first fight since the Oscar dela Hoya fight were i think Mayweather may well lose.

What is Schaefer supposed to say? That Khan essentially had to go life and death with a well past his prime Julio Diaz, that he fully knows that Khan isn't deserving of a matchup with the P4P king, that what Khan has done the last 2 years doesn't even warrant him being on a "short list" of options for FLoyd?

Richard knows this guy doesn't have a chance, he's just trying to spin it to the media and casual fans so that they can get high PPV #'s. The only thing Khan has going for him is he's popular in the Middle East and England, so he brings a pretty established fanbase with him in this matchup.

I really hope this match doesn't happen, I'm disappointed at FLoyd for choosing this guy just as much as I was disappointed with pacman for choosing Rios. These are the 2 best fighters of our generation and if they're not going to fight each other anytime soon, they should continue to challenge themselves against the elite in their division/promotional stable such as Bradley, JMM, Ruslan for Pacman and Garcia or Maidana for Floyd.

In FLoyd's case, there's at least 6 or 7 more viable options for him. The clock is ticking on his career and I'd love him to continue to take on the best challengers out there and build on his ATG legacy/resume. Ditto for Pacman.
