I am sitting shotgun in your boat...Its not about if he deserves it cause he clearly does not. Personally I am shocked Mayweather is taking this fight.

If Amir has learned how to protect himself on the way out from the left hook he will be a nightmare for Floyd. The thing is we have NO IDEA what we will see on May 3rd because we dont have a clue what Amir has learned and if he will apply it. Plus this is his first fight at 147 and he will probably come in around 160 so he will finally have his legs underneath him for a fight.

Maidana for Floyd is a JOKE. You have already seen what he does to fighters like Maidana a million times. They cant hit him and they eat his right hand for 12 rounds

I didn't mean it as if Maidana would give him problems. I don't think he would, nor do i think Garcia would have a chance either.

I'm just saying those 2 guys have done a LOT more than Amir Khan, especially the last 2 years. For their recent accomplishments, both of them deserve to be higher on the totem pole compared to AMir Khan, who has had a very shaky career for the last 2 years.

    Agreed.

After seeing Maidana lose all 10 rounds versus Alexander, i have no interest in seeing Maidana lose all 12 rounds versus Mayweather plus it would be a borefest.

My personal preference is for Floyd to try and get something done with Sergio Martinez for this September if/when he gets by Cotto. I'd like to see Floyd challenge himself and try to capture the lineal MW title.

I'd like to see him fight Lara also, but Lara hasn't done enough yet to warrant a fight with FLoyd, and what's really killing his chances is he doesn't really have an established fanbase.

I'd also like to see Floyd fight Pacman and Timmy Bradley. That's my wish list for Floyd's last 4 fights--Sergio, Lara or Danny garcia, Pacman and Bradley.

he beats all those guys in convincing fashion, and Ill have zero problem calling the guy a top 10-15 of All time, without question.

cool. Im with you man. Amir shouldnt even be considered for Floyd but he is. And the fact is that he has a set of skills which Floyd has not seen in years so it makes it more interesting than any other fighter that has a REALISTIC chance of actually booking the may 3rd date

I would give Khan a much better chance versus Mayweather if he had stayed with Freddie Roach.

I think Virgil Hunter is a bad trainer for Khan, if you take away Amir's offense away and try to make him into a counter puncher then you're taking away one of his major strengths.

Roach is still the only Trainer who got the best performance of Khan's career which was shutting out and beating Kotelnik 12-0.

I don't personally take too much notice of Khans loss to Prescott and i had him beating Peterson 8rds to 4 so even with the fact the Ref and judges were corrupt and Lamont was on Peds, Khan still won that fight. Also against Garcia he was beating the **** out of him before he got careless.

No doubt in this fight Mayweather will get hit and hurt and unlike 99% of his previous opponents he'll also be second best when it comes to hand and foot speed...we've never seen Mayweather in this kind of situation.

I agree about Roach. This is the first time Khan has stayed in the gym in between fights though. No one outside of Virgil and Amir know who will show up May 3rd, thats the thing. Ive also said a million times on here. The move to 147 is freaking huge. If you watch the Garcia fight he had no legs. He wasnt really hurt. He knew exactly what was going on. Kenny bayless said "amir are you ok" and he said "yes I am ok" but he couldnt walk toward him!

Being in the the gym for nearly a year to work on his weight and his legs should take care of that problem. He didnt just lose his speed over night. If he can avoid getting caught with the left hook on the way out he may win the fight because he can take the straight right hand, hes proven that.

Khan has no chance, none in hell.

There is nobody at 147-154 that can beat Floyd, maybe a lucky punch, maybe but considering the defensive technician Floyd is, it is not likely.

That's the same reasoning that was there when he moved up to 140, didn't hold water there. And he fought Diaz(who is a blown-up Lightweight, not a big puncher at all) at 143 when he nearly got stopped. Floyd's not a heavy hitter but he has respectable power, and that is enough for Khan, especially with how easily Floyd will be hitting him.

the difference is he wont be cutting weight. He will have nearly a year to get to his fighting weight which will help with his legs. He wont be cutting weight and training in camp at the same time.

LOL.. yeah, won't be cutting weight. But now getting punched in the face by guys who are natural Welterweights. Good tradeoff. :patsch

When he got blasted out by Presscott in 30 seconds he jumped to 140 so he "wouldn't have to cut weight" and he was either knocked out, knocked down or hurt in every goddamn fight at 140 except Malignaggi and Judah. Now the excuse is that he "won't have to cut weight at 140!!"

When are you going to accept that this is just a shitty, shitty fight all around?
