Did Froch really "take his soul"? Bute looked blocked to me until the last round (or until the last two rounds). He's afraid to attack. He's not old and finished. How can he come back?

When you got hit with 60% of the power punches, its normal 2 be scared.

Froch appeared to be on PEDs for that fight - he was never so relentlessly aggressive before.

One of the most important factors of being a good boxer is having a strong backbone

Bute lost his completely after the Froch fight.

    It's a shame.

    He is finished.

There is nothing more in the boxing game for him. That is a reality that he must accept.

He is afraid of punches, and unwilling to engage at all. How is he ever going to do well vs a puncher?

    Answer: He isn't

Bute may be past it but I doubt it has that much to do with Froch and he was not that great to begin with. Andrade was robbed of a win over him let's remember that.

The reason Bute was not engaing with Pascal during the fight was because he was constantly getting countered and hurt not because he was scared. In the last 2 rounds Pascal literally just put his hands up and motioned Bute to come in and attack him. That is why he threw punches.

The fact is, Bute was never, ever that good, and was always a low B level fighter. Now that he has been exposed and KO'ed, he is even worst than before. His future is as a French/Canadian model for Blue Boy Magazine.
