I kind of agree with you but it is amusing to force a nostaligist to take a close, realistic look at the past. I do have the advantage of actually being around back then and following the sport and at the time "the heavyweight division stinks" was the prevalent lament, and the heavyweight division has always stank for the past 35 years according to some.

John Tate??? Are you kidding me? We can take a closer look at him.

His best win is over Gerrie Coetzee who at best was equal to Oleg Maskaev and probably inferior to Maskaev really. The other recognizable names on his list are Berbick and Mike Weaver who both beat him. The rest of his opponents were just designated victims. It's not like John Tate is a legend.

There's enough quotes and articles out there as the eras are happening, by respected boxing people, that lead me to believe that heavyweight boxing has been dying from the day it was born.

In other words you're a biased nutsack who lacks the integrity to admit when he's wrong and is unable to debate. Gotcha! :thumbsup

You left him out intentionally and still miss the point he was a contender willing to fight other contenders before getting his shot. Very convenient! :hey

OK Chef, let's be civil. This isn't about the bros, but it seems many think it is. Let's just forget about that and concentrate on the original post. What about that is my opinion? All numbers and everything I've done has come from the Ring's annual rankings.

You lost the debate 10 pages back. Now we are replying to keep the thread where you got owned at the top of the list.

I got owned huh thumb boy? How can the numbers be owned? You can't change facts just because you don't like them and the numbers work the same for every fighter pro or con. Their simply is no bias.

Please keep bumping it though. The more people who see it the more that will become aware!

Let's look at another recent "title" challenger since many here hold Vittles Klitschko up as champion.

Manuel Charr: before Vits he fought zero top 10 fighters. Since he's fought zero top 10 fighters and in his last 4 fights his opponents are a combined 97-23-4. In an era of shiny manufactured records that doesn't seem all that impressive, does it?

Who in the Hell has your hero Wilder ever fought? I will miss Vitali and am worried about his being in such a violent place as Ukraine with violent demonstrations, although Vitali has tried to calm the crowd down. Vitali a true warrior in and out of the ring.

Now I expect Vladimir to fight for and win the WBC title. After Klitschkos are gone the haters will change their tune...........depending on whom the new champion will be within the future. Vladimir Klitschko is very underrated in America...........and always will be no matter how good he is..............and he is extremely good, anyone could see that since his amateur days..........
