Not GGG. Mayweather won't get anything other than a belt, unless GGG becomes the undisputed MW king. Now if it were Martinez, Floyd had his chance and decided not to fight him when it meant beating the MW king. Floyd after the ODLH fight stopped taking "risk" fights. He will never do it at this stage of his career. For fu.ck.s sake, he is fighting Amir "Chin" Khan next! And he drained Canelo for a JrMW title!

Am I the only one on there that realizes that Floyd is a welterweight? He couldn't even make 151 pounds to face Canelo. You guys seriously think Floyd can fight nearly 15 pounds higher than he already is? Damn the guy started at 130 and you want him to go up more weight?

Obviously GGG has his management trolling the boards looking for a payday the guy hasn't earned. Name one good fighter Triple G has beaten....Just one is all we ask...

MVC would get knocked up by floyd. This matchup has the same chance at becoming a fact as the tooth fairy, yeti, unicorns, floyd having a man's jewels and MVC's sanity.

But of course, nothing is impossible to a ***** in regards to their deity.

There are no big scalps at 160...not unless you are impressed by Sergio's sloppy as.s.

Floyd has balls to win titles from 130 to 154.

Now....what kind of balls does GG have:lol:

He's 31 and has yet to fight somebody bigger.

Floyd has beaten three champions at 154 lbs. He's fought in the range of 147-154 for the past eight years. I find it odd how defensive some people get with even the prospect of him moving up in weight one class. Floyd himself has said that weight doesn't matter, skills matter. He's the P4P #1 fighter, and repeatedly has called himself the best ever. Him moving up one weight class to fight a dangerous, but flawed fighter in GGG is not a stretch given his status. But we all know that's not what Floyd's about. He's not going to fight anyone that is a legitimate danger to his zero, regardless of the weight class. Which is why he's likely fighting Khan, who shouldn't even be in the conversation for a Floyd fight.

As to GGG's place in boxing, he has not really beaten anyone of note except Macklin, who he destroyed, and Macklin is roughly on par overall with the likes of Sturm, but it was a good style matchup for GGG. I personally think he's good but overhyped quite a bit. However, he deserves at least a unification attempt against one of his fellow Middleweight belt holders to prove himself more, and it's fairly clear that they don't want to fight him, so there's not much GGG can do about that except keep the pressure on for the fights to be made.

sugar ray leonard was coming off of what pretty much amounted to a five year layoff to take on a guy, for fifteen rounds mind you, who to that point had proven himself to be one of the greatest middleweights ever, and in hindsight one of the greatest ever, period.

    NO!

before you make an argument stating the contrary, ask yourself, was the road to hagler for sugar ray leonard close to what would be floyd's road to GGG? has GGG proven himself to be the best middleweight, let alone someone of hagler's ilk? GGG has yet to face Martinez, Quillin or Sturm, and say what you want about how you THINK he would do against them, YOU HAVE TO BEAT THE BEST TO BE THE BEST.

If Floyd even steps in the ring with Golovkin at 160, I will buy a shirt with his face and a sign that says "Greatest boxer alive"

    1. hagler was NOT past his prime. coming of the mugabi win a year earlier he was feared greatly and had difficulty finding willing opponents.

    2. ray had the benefit of seeing marvin up close and personal and "saw something" supposedly. what he saw was desperation in hagler to get paid big money and used that to his advantage to get all the things he wanted in a fight with hagler. big ring...12 rounds....he even convinced hagler that a close match would make the public demand a rematch which would get them both paid twice. everyone and their mother knew hagler would destroy leonard. what they didn't count on was hagler wanting that big money and holding back in hopes of there being a rematch. even with all that...i thought hagler won. leonard was the darling of the public. they cheered him for not being destroyed.

    3. ggg appears to be in his prime...but i don't believe he will be duped the way hagler was.

    4. mayweather is NOT in a desperate position and does NOT care what the public thinks of him. because he's in a position to pick and choose who he fights...and when he fights...don't expect him to take on any real challenges. when real challenges presented themselves after the hatton fight...he retired. it's a trick he learned from leonard and has utilized it well.
