Ali triumphs to become HW Champion 3 times as an underdog. How did he do it?

    Wow thanks for posting the fight. I forgot how many clean right hands Ali took. Heavy,hurting shots,when Ali took to mugging, you knew he got hurt...You could hear those shots too ! Tell me any heavyweight over the years who fought the bangers Ali fought, and took all those shots ? Liston, Frazier,Norton,Foreman,Lyle, Shavers to name a few. Even a totally shot Ali took some good licks form Holmes...

    Ya they must have had the ring miked up pretty good for this fight because you can clearly hear those huge shots landing! BRUTAL to say the least!

    I have to say as well, that Shavers fought a pretty good fight. He refused to be doped into following Ali to the ropes (most the time) and his strategy overall was pretty sound. Heck of a last round by both men too.
    When a puncher like Shavers lands that many power shots, one would expect him to win. It was just his bad luck that it was Ali's chin he was hitting.

    Bad luck and a case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. When you hit Ali with everything but the kitchen sink and you cant get him outa there it must be pretty discouraging!:good
