He's not fighting Golovkin unless he's doping

Golovkin will flatten Martinez as soon as leather makes contact

Lou DiBella said that it is his and Sergio's goal to get him a few big payday fights, then he retires, so I think he has: 2-4 fight left.

This is an interesting fight but be realistic. Neither of these 2 are relevant anymore. Cotto hasn't had a good win in years. He was warped after Margo damaged him and then completely done when Pac savagely punished him. He got owned by Bambi legs Trout and only threw punches witb authority in maybe 3 rounds.

Sergio is falling apart and 40, so hopefully after Cotto gets the sh*t beat out of him they both retire.

What in the last 3 years of their careers tells you that? Cotto has had his as$ kicked badly...Sergio has been winning. Cotto has poor stamina and can be rocked...Sergio gets stronger. Cotto has better fundamentals but that isnt going to matter. Cotto is getting stopped inside 9 rounds.

Thats the point. I've been telling yall this forever. Mark my words:

Sergio fights Cotto and wins, he is at a top point in career.

Then he fights Golovkin to pass the Middleweight torch to another fighter in HBO's stable. He will not fight Canelo before GGG. I think he will retire after GGG but he might try to get another contract with a different network.

Sergio signed a three fights contract with HBO before the Murray's fight, so he has still two fights in the bag. If he fights Cotto and wins... he is suposed to defend his WBC belt against the mandatory: the winner of Rubio vs Spada.

Obviously if he looks terrible against Cotto he could be able to land a fight against FM or Canelo. But if he does look good.... he would not have options under 160.

If Sergio wins the fight with Cotto regardless of how good or bad he looks, I think his next step is Canelo.

Canelo said that he wants Sergio and a fight between these 2 guys would make every sense IMO.

I hardly believe that Golovkin will have the chance this year to fight with the WBC champion.

Martinez is not fighting Canelo. Martinez has a contract with HBO and Canelo is with GBP/Showtime. Scratch that fight out.

Martinez is not fighting Chavez either. As it is Chavez Jr is struggling to make SMW. Martinez will be forced to fight GGG by HBO. HBO doesn't have that many options at MW that bring in the $$$. We can safely say that the cashcow at MW right now is Martinez with Chavez jr move up to SMW. Unless Canelo moves up to MW, then the focus/money at MW will be at GBP/Showtime.

Only way Sergio goes near Golovkin is if HBO basically makes him. Even then what is his two fight contract with HBO worth? He could just step away and sigh with ShOWTIME and get a Canelo or Mayweather payday.

I am not certain but I think Network contracts are not as rigid as promotional contracts. You can simply void them by walking away and it is not like the network will prevent you from fighting like a promoter would do under similar circumstances.

At this time i think how big money is its his most important thing, if the money is right he will face GGG.
