The closest this fight was to getting made it was halted by Pacquiao because of drug testing. Think about that. Pac turned down drug testing and Mayweather gets bashed. If it were the other way around, people would be saying Mayweather was on steroids and he should be banned from the sport. I don't understand how people forget that. Mayweather actually offered 50/50 and worked with Pac on the window date of the drug testing. He was very reasonable with his terms. I'm not saying future negotiations weren't ruined by Mayweather and his ego. But c'mon. That was the real only chance of the fight getting made and Pacquiao and Arum walked away from what were very reasonable terms.

That aint on Garcia, Haymon told him to keep mum and please believe he's getting step aside cake for being a good boy, and truth be told there is no reason for a Mayweather match for Garcia, he doesnt quite have the fan base just yet(which is GB fault pushing people ahead of him) so he won't get no big pay day as the split would extremely one sided in Floyd's favor, and Garcia can make his usual 4 million not being ruined by Floyd

B-Hop's legacy would be weaker if he never fought Jones. To have fought a true legend like Jones and be somewhat competitive (8-4) is no shame at all. So people now know that Bhop was tested against the best and somewhat held his own. It wasn't a Jones whitewash.

EDIT: Just realized you were talking about their 2nd fight. I was referring to their first fight.

It would help his standing to take the fight and lose- I really don't punish old fighters' legacy for losing because that's what happens when fighters get old. It doesn't eliminate his accomplishments. What it does eliminate is the biggest criticism about Floyd (or at the very least, diminishes it sizably. For some, the fight happening a few years ago would've completely wiped it out).

You want to blame a Junior Welterweight for not fighting a Welterweight?

Garcia is a big solid dude that gets between 175-180 in between fights, he doesn't get Hatton fat though, never flabby, he has that young boy getting bigger muscular solid weight.......

Pre Matthysse Garcia talked about not staying at 140 too much longer and how at this point he's training to make weight..........

LOL! You clowns are embarrassing yourselves with every post.
mayweather deserved a soft bout after his match with Cotto. Then he deserved another after his bout with Canelo.
Yet you clowns call for him to fight tougher and tougher opposition after every bout he wins.
Personally, the only disappointment I have with Mayweather is his small statue not being able to move up in weight and take some Jr. middleweight or middleweight matchups.

Rather than allowing Mayweather to take a break and fight a lightweight opponent like Khan, you clowns are calling for him to fight a no-body like GGG, hoping to give the slav a free-handout payday for losing.
GGG would be out-boxed, out-classed and extremely embarrassed in a matchup with mayweather. Just like Canelo.
Then you would be calling for Floyd to face some other hyped up Russian.

LOL! Ignorance truly is pervasive in some parts of the world.

This. In 2009-2010 there was no bigger fight that could be made. That is until a new boogeyman arose in Canelo, and Pac was given an undeserved loss to Bradley, an undeserved win against Marquez, and suffered a brutal KO loss to Marquez. All this after walking away from the biggest fight that could be made.

Now...he's may very well lose again to Bradley--who just easily outboxed Pac's biggest rival--and just keeps getting better. All this puts Floyd out of reach for Pac, with so much unfinished business left with fighters who are a level below Floyd.

At Pac's peak, the fight was considered 50-50, a big scalp for either guy, and a major legacy enhancer. Now, Floyd losing a fight to an "old", "diminished" version of Pac would be worse than going out undefeated. That doesn't mean I don't want to see them fight. But, to answer the OP, a LOSS does not help Floyd's legacy, at this stage.

Pac has no answer for speed and great head movement. That's why he signed for Marquez 4 instead of Bradley 2. Pac will fight the same as before and this new Bradley will embarrass him worse than the last.

i agree.. these dumbasses want him to fight GGG... are you serious? What's next? Weight drain Wlad Klitchko? Let's be realistic, Mayweather is the best and there is only one fight out there for him which will totally wipe out the question mark in regards to him being the absolute best and that's Manny Pacquaio...

The GGG fight doesn't even appeal to me. He fights at middleweight and the more he ages he will look towards supermiddleweight, instead they want to weight drain him to 154  and have him fight floyd... are you crazy?

LOL. Pac couldn't win against Marquez, a guy that Mayweather controlled with ease and made look like a sparring match.
Give me a break with the stupidity, please.

As long as floyd keeps his 0 his legacy will be cemented, however he fights Pacman and loses it will be greatly affected...
