About 40 years I was watching the Mexican tv boxing show on New Jersey's Channel 41 when a horrible incident took place a week or so before the broadcast - at the end of a match there was a large crowd of people around both corners when, BOOM! an assassin shot the trainer/cornerman of one of the boxers. The killer ran, disappeared into the crowd, and nobody tried to stop him. Later on the gun was found not too far from the parking lot. A doctor at ringside tried in vain to stop the blood drain but it was hopeless as the man was struck in the heart and he died at the scene.


I do not recall any more circumstances behind that horrible act and know that it was not reported by any North American media at that time.

A freind of mine an amateur heavyweight did the same thing, he came back to the corner after taking a big left hook and told his brother, "I''ve **** myself".
