I can see Sky flying Groves out for the Froch/Chavez fight to do punditry a la Benn for Benn/Watson II. The words "C'MON MICHAEL" spring to mind.

Clearly Froch has two fights left- a win over Chavez would get him a decent payday and then he'd have the option of fighting Groves for massive money. If he takes the Groves fight immediately and gets sparked he doesn't earn as much as he would from two fights as he'd retire.

How you promote Froch now is tricky- he seems to have lost a great chunk of the public's respect since the Groves fight so the way forward would be booking him as the man you love to hate like Eubank. The issue is that Froch is not as entertaining as Eubank outside of the ring and that he doesn't like people hating him.

Chavez is a fraud. Joke fight, not interested. His only option is Groves.

Yes he did, but he ALSO ruled Groves out. Froch said "Groves had his chance and he blew it" and "I want to see my name up in lights in Las Vegas to finish my career". Froch also added he "couldn't get up for fighting Groves again because the motivation wouldn't be there".

The rematch wont happen now and Froch and Sky are just telling the fans it will happen after the next fight so they will pay for his nexy ppv.

Never mind read the transcript on the Sky sports website. Read between the lines. It's not happening.

I followed Froch, although i was unable to attend the Groves fight. Now i, and many others are only intrested in a rematch. Chavez fight will go down like a fart in a spacesuit.

He is continually embarrassing himself now ducking Groves, and his ego is like a train that cant be stopped. Its impossible to defend him. What has happened to him?

Is a Chavez fight then the Groves rematch such a bad thing? I think Froch vs Chavez could be a cracking fight! However I'm not convinced Froch has two fights in him, well I would of liked to of seen him retire if the ref let the Groves fight come to its natural conclusion.

Too much disrespect for Froch. Yes he can say the wrong things at times but all this laying into him is a little ridiculous. For all you know, all this talk from Froch and Groves could be for hyping the fight, which isn't rare in boxing is it.

Surely this is one fight for once that doesn't need to be hyped after the 1st one! :)

I also think we are all being too harsh on Froch.

Not all champs fight there mandatories! you can't blame Froch for wanting a big vegas fight, he at the end of his career, Groves still has the rest of his to achieve everything.

So based on what everyone is saying Cazaghe definately ducked Froch for a big pay day in Vegas? Difference?

Froch isnt ducking anyone...he gave the mandatory the fight! He's looking for something else to get up for keep him motivated.

I want to see the re-match and think it will happen but cant blame him for wanting a big Vegas fight...

I have a strange feeling that Froch might get robbed v Chavez Jr. in Vegas, as a diehard Froch fan, i see no reason to fight Chavez i mean this guy hasn't earned his shot. Groves defiantly earned a rematch, but Groves should go after Bika and become world champion, imagine the rematch with all 3 of the major belts on the line :O

Funny. If only Froch did a duck job on Groves in the first place like 90% of the other boxers do, he wouldnt be getting this stick.

He should have followed in the footsteps of Mayweather, Calzaghe, Roy Jones by ducking any legit threat and avoided all this. lol

The rematch will happen, and it will not be so far off that we cant bump these threads and laugh at posts like this

When in his career has he ever ran?

He has said he will fight Groves. Groves has said hes almost certain the rematch will happen. Hearn has said hes more than confident it gets made. Matchroom have offered Groves a 7 figure sum for the rematch (which he has turned down). I agree that this will be much less than Groves deserves, but he could have accepted, and this i think is proof that Froch will accept the rematch. As of now, its all about whos getting paid what.

    Get a grip guys
