    Just released by Matchroom:

“There has been plenty of speculation over the last few weeks regarding my future. As it stands we are looking closely at two options George Groves and Julio Cesar Chavez Jnr. Yesterday, we made a seven figure offer to George Groves for a second fight that would have seen him earn around double that of the first. Disappointingly, George rejected this offer so we are continuing our talks with Top Rank and HBO regarding Chavez Jnr. I understand the demand for the Groves fight in the UK, but also the demand in the US for the Chavez fight. Talks are ongoing and no doubt some further news will break soon. I’m happy to fight anyone, as I have done throughout my entire career.”

Offering him a **** deal or something. As far as I'm aware he didn't make a million 1st fight. So they said the offer is double. So he won't be getting over around 1.9mil. I think what he's doing is right. This is talked about as the biggest fight in the UK that can sell out Wembley. Fury was going to get 5 million for Haye, so Groves is right to reject it. Also Fury v Haye was for no belts, this is a unification fight.

Knowing he took much less than Froch in the 1st meeting and how much the rematch would generate ££££ wise, I think Groves and his team know they 1. could get more and 2. deserve more than double the original.

He got 500K in the first fight so offered him a round 1M.. for a fight that will probably get Frock closer to 5M.

Groves should just take the money and fight. He's going to have a superb career.

Although to fair this should be a 50/50 split.

Current split being offered to Groves is closer to 80-20 to Frock

50/50 aint happening, he has no belts and is not a mandatory

65/35 maybe 70/30 and Groves will pocket a couple of million and get his chance for the belts and mega millions in the future.

This just makes it even clearer that Froch is trying to dodge George Groves.

I really hope GG never fights Froch because we will all remember Froch for bottling a rematch but GG will move on now and make his own career out of bigger and better fights.

This fight is happening... Chavez numbers clearly dont add up to anything close to the rematch... Frock is looking at 5M minimum for a retirement fight. He loves dollar.

All about the haggling now... 99% sure this will be made before the month is out.

Groves should be grateful he is being offered a second chance with more money. I thought groves wanted a chance to avenge the "robbery" of the first fight so if this is true George should have happily accepted

Froch has the "world" title, he "won" the first fight and so holds all the cards, it will be on his terms and rightfully so if you think about it, Disappointed in Groves if and again i stress the word IF, this is true.

I understand the fight could be worth more but I'm a little disappointed groves rejected, unless its with a view to negotiate-which it probably is

it's just haggling... you never accept first offer... groves knows frock cannot get anything close to the kind of money this fight brings.... doing right thing.

one more fight against groves and he will more than double his total career earnings.... so you tell me.. should 36 yr old Frock do that? or go out to vegas for some fun?

Everybody is playing a game of haggling... its obvious now the offer is official.

Fight will happen... stupendous money not to make it happen.

Both fighters just want their piece of the pie.
