If you believe this then you will believe anything.
It's obvious Carl Froch doesn't want the Groves rematch and he will do anything to make it look like Groves is stopping the fight from happening.

The fact is Groves is happy with 25% not 50%, but 25%. This is why Groves has appealed to the IBF about the decision hoping he will be re-insated as mandatory challenger and be entitled to his 25% split of the purse.

Groves made £500,000 for the last fight and if Hearn/Froch offered him 'around double' this time then it would more likely be £750,000+ in a fight that will generate more than £10 million.

As for Froch being happy to fight anyone? Well we no that is NOT TRUE because he Froch is only happy to talk about fighting Chavez Jnr in Las Vegas.

The fight isn't going to happen as Froch only wants one more payday from the Chavez Jnr fight for his retirement fund and he is only saying he 'might possibly' fight Groves after that so fans will buy his next ppv.
The rematch is not happening end of.

Got to be honest guys if he is being offered 1m for the fight he should be accepting that, he holds no belts, lost the first fight irrespective of the dodgy stoppage in reality he appeared seconds from being stopped (and I backed him so no bias from me).

Where is he going to earn that sort of money as a challenger, he wont get anything like it for Stieglitz or Ward, in fact he would be lucky to get half that.

Yes Froch and Eddie will make a killing but take your million knock Froch out and then offer him 70-30 on the trilogy match.

To me if you feel totally aggrieved about something and someone offers your 1m to put the matter right, you should be stepping up and right the wrong whilst getting paid handsomely for it.

I thought the same, until I realised the Chavex fight IF he beats Vera would never be ppv here or over there... so there is no more than 1M in it for Frock... he can earn over 5 times that against Groves... proper proper retirment money. all haggling now.

so Froch puts the ball firmly back in Groves court.........if the rumours of the figures are to be believed i would say its a fair deal.....those saying a 50/50 split are deluded...the fight is not alll about Groves and he is the novice here..

if i were Groves i would get it signed and look to the future ,if he holds the belts the money will follow...he is also only 1 fight away from perhaps never getting a million pound purse again.

    GET IT SIGNED GEORGIE BOY

i really cant see the ground for why anyone thinks that froch wont take the second fight, his **** at pr but you cant repeat the line "I’m happy to fight anyone, as I have done throughout my entire career." again if he plans on avoiding the fight, that would be suicide...

As a champ surely you have some perks....He can't moan at a £1m....why not take the fight and win it this time..then he is in the driving seat

You don't know what he has been offered? I mean 'they' are saying they offered Groves 'around double' what he got last time so it probably is a lot less than £1 million.

Anyway George Groves would be stupid to sign any contract just now when he is still waiting to find out the result of his appeal from the IBF. I know it's unlikely but if his appeal was successful then he would be entitled to 25% of the purse which would be more to £2.5 million so what sort of idiot would sign a deal right now for £750,000+.
Hearn/Froch are hoping to get Groves to sign for penny's (with terms) or nothing.

I said they would do this.

I dont understand why he'd turn down a 7 figure sum....he's got plenty more big fights out there for the rest of his career.

Groves has nothing to bargain with other than thr result of the last fight...Groves is acing like a spoilt kid....that's the era were in though.

if groves is so certain his going to win the rematch so there will be plenty more paydays for him, why bellyace at getting a shot at 2 belts and pocket a million.

Look mate i understand that, the point I made was George would be stupid to sign that sort of contract just now when he's still waiting on the result of his appeal from the IBF however unlikely it is.

Another thing if Froch wants that big retirement money then he needs Groves. I mean let Froch go fight Chavez Jnr and see what he gets? The casual fans are not going to buy that fight.

It's times like this when you prove your worth and as i said Froch needs Groves to make the big money so they can offer him the right deal...Simple
