Why are people moaning about Froch now? He just offered a SEVEN figure rematch with Groves. Yes he's agreed to a rematch and has offered him some decent money. Now there will be some haggling and hopefully an agreement. That is decent money for a fighter that has no belt.

Yeah defo Groves should wait for the result of the IBF appeal, but really thats going to be a no. £1m is a good sum of money and if he really believes beating Froch is easy then he should take the fight then earn shed loads as champ

Groves is shouting about he wants the fight. NOW he has been offered double the first fight whatever that was ( No point guessing because we do not know) he has rejected it. No belts, Not the mandatory and refusing the fight for more money.

If he is that sure he was robbed take the fight, move on and earn bigger money. He has had one title fight, lost (Fairly or un fairly) and does not have a right to a re match, surely making demands will lose him the opportunity to a re match?

Everyone wants to blame Froch but I wonder if Froch was offered 7 figures at the same stage in his career as George is now?

Froch record: Pascal, Taylor, Dirrell, Abrahams, Johnson, Bute and Kessler

Groves record: Degale and Johnson (coming back from retirement)

and people are saying it should be 50/50.

Groves can and should get more, Carl needs Groves if he doesn't fight him everyone will know he bottled it. Secondly all the JCC talk is just bull****, their is no demand for that fight in either USA or UK PPV on HBO no chance, PPV on Sky will bomb. Simple fact is Carl makes about 4 or 5 times more fighting Groves, Groves is in a strong position Carl doesn't have 5 options any other fights bar Groves,Ward, or a LHW will be ducks and Groves makes easily the most money out of all them fights. Groves deserves about 2.5M if not 3 the fight will make about 10M if not even more so what George should take an 85/15 split yeah right he isn't that stupid. Why doesn't Carl offer GG 25% the same as GG is asking for by going to the IBF.

Just to throw a different angle on it here ............

Groves is being offered £1M which he has declined. Possibly on the grounds of his appeal he wants back in a mandatory position which is 25%.

We know 25% of what this fight would generate will equate to more than £1M so is it possible that GG is:

A - holding out for 25% but refusing the initial offer, thus starting the haggling process, or
B - declining it knowing Froch will make close to £4-5M from it and he would rather lose £500k personally (assuming he takes £500k from his next fight) and see Froch lose MILLIONS really out of spite. Knowing full well he has years ahead of him and will no doubt pick up a title.

I can't see Froch making more than £1M in any other fight. The PPV's won't sell.

    Just a thought.

No, wait for the IBF appeal. Then you negotiate.

I'm a Froch fan, but GG deserves a fair slice of the pie seeing as how it was his performance that has made such a massive payday for the rematch possible, along with the dodgy decision of course.
