Rematch, Vacate, Retire or fight Chavez?

Which option do you think Carl Froch will take now?

 

Fight Groves.

Everyone wants it to happen, even Hearn. In the Ifilm interview with Kugie, he is so desperate for this. From CFs perspective, I can't believe a JCC payday comes close to what he would get v Groves. It's not as if there is much to gain from building a name in the states at 36 either.

Plus given it's now his mandatory if he backs out, how can he retire having clearly swerved this? He's too proud and for that reason it will happen.

 

fight Groves only way i see it not happening is if someone out bids Hearn.

 

I think he will opt for Chavez Jnr at MGM Grand on HBO. Just my opinion i don't think the Groves fight interested in that much in the first place (seemed to him like a backwards step) and with what's happened i don't think he wants as much as the Chavez Jnr fight.

I can imagine Carl getting really excited when Eddie mentioned HBO 24/7 . I think he wants to enjoy what Calzaghe did late in his career with the Hopkins fight. Walking the Vegas strip etc..

With the IBF making Groves mandatory, and Froch in the past talking about how much holding the belts means to him, including fighting his mandatory's to keep the belts if necessary, if he then goes on to vacate rather that fight GG, it will be as big a ***** move as I've seen in boxing. He loses so much respect if he vacates IMO, and he's already lost plenty of that. Just fight Groves Carl, no matter what the outcome I think he comes out of it with more respect than he does if he vacates and fights Chavez jr.

 

I think he'll vacate, fight Chavez, beat him and then fight Groves.

Clever manoeuvring by Groves to say "I'm speaking to other promoters who could stage the fight". In which he's saying "If you don't give me the split I want I'll quickly sign with someone else and it'll go to purse bids". And Hearn doesn't want this to go to purse bids. This is why I think that Froch will vacate- Hearn won't give Groves his desired split and then get the jitters that someone else might be able to stage the fight, ordering Froch to vacate voluntarily.

The whole situation is currently moving so quickly however that anything could feasibly happen.

The balls back in Frochy's court and that's good seeing as he made out Groves turned down the fight yesterday.

But your right anything can happen in the next few days and it just makes you wonder what shite he will come out with next?

 

He fought Kessler rather than his mandatory,Stevenson.I think whichever pays the most,he will take.Also got a feeling that whatever the result,it could be his last fight.The way he's been talking,its definitely on his mind.

 

In the iFilm interview yesterday Hearn sounded like he was getting sick of covering for Froch's boasts, could be a little bit of friction there.

Fight Groves in rematch...........

 

Get the Groves fight out the way and get some respect back at the same time. Win or lose there's still big money fights out there for him. He gains nothing except money from the Chavez fight as most boxing fans know Chavez is shite. I doubt your average fan will want to stay up and watch it. It might be the case that Froch is only bothered about money now, but having heard him spew on about his so called legacy for years this shouldn't be the case. I think Groves wins the rematch, will fight a cuter fight. Froch being Froch will probably approach it exactly the same as the first fight, as thats all he knows.
