I'm not a big fan of either guy, but I just don't see how GGG would be able to beat him if he doesn't knock him out.

Calzaghe just throws way too many punches per round, regardless if they're pillow-like shots, it seemed to be very effective for him throughout his fight career. GGG would have to walk through his punches and try to knock him out, I just can't see him beating a guy who's naturally bigger than him who also throws an incredible amount of punches per round. There's no way he could win a decision against Joe C for those reasons.

That being said, I think GGG has enough power behind his shots to possibly knock Joe C out. I'd favor Calzaghe 70-30 in that matchup

joe cal would be happy to figth lighter weight fighters based on his actual history of picking them, but GGG would be too risky and he would likely not face him till GGG was magically aged to 40.

But joe would probably edge him out by SD if he had his welsh ref and judges to back him up.

yep that's why hes being matched with Joe Calzaghe.

to be fair to GGG, he won a major title and defended it much younger and far more times than Joe did (joe only has one major title defence in his entire career).

but equally joe did partially unify for a day or two.

Joe could have had his welsh ref & judges with pleasure if he'd had the balls to rematch Bernard Hopkins in front of his faithful welsh fans.
Instead old Slappy took to the hills and RETIRED to siff , get drunk , chase ho's & kill innocent little rabbits Rabbits don't hit back do they Joe:rofl:rofl:hi:

The threads that have GGG or Kovalev beating Marciano, and Ali are always good for a chuckle. We have alot of dumbass ******s on this site who actually believe it though...Dear God...

people that try and pressure calzaghe get turned into hamburger meat, he is just too fast and relentless. you have to outbox calzaghe, i dont think GGG could do it

well you can outpressure him, but you need a good chin and good enough stamina to keep it going 12 rounds, then outlanding is quite possible, especially since he misses so damn much.

fortunately foe joe the only time he ever fought someone with that combo was with robin reid.

Calzaghe sure made fools out of Lacy, Hopkins and Jones..................Calzaghe was at 168, then moved up to 175. Calzaghe had the nerve to come to America and kick arse, unlike chicken Ward who will only fight in his home town with his personal referee, judges, boxing commission, etc...........
