Of course not, which is exactly why I posted he wasn't going to be promoting for free. Some people seem to be under the impression that Bob wouldn't get paid in a charity fight scenario. That's the only reason they'd be surprised that he'd support it.

These guys aren't fighting for free; they're fighting for tax deductions against the rest of their 2014 income. Assuming Floyd made only $50 million, that'd still protect him from having to pay taxes on a significantly larger chunk of 2014 income-it'd go to charity instead of Uncle Sam. Plus, he'd still negotiate in a promoters cut for himself, so you can't even say Floyd's making no cash from this fight. Floyd the fighter technically would see no cash- he'd get a ton of write-offs.

Floyd the promoter would still see his share of the pie just like Arum would.

Arum would still get paid, and Mayweather, through his promotional side, would still get paid even if Mayweather "the fighter" donated his fighter's share to charity.

There's also a lot of value in the tax writeoffs. Don't confuse fighting for charity with fighting for free.
