Because of his lack of amateur career Jennings, is learning his craft on the job, so to speak. Impressed with his beatdown of Szpilka. He needs to followup his victory by fighting opponents of progressively better skills.

If Jennings had more of a workrate he'd be dangerous.

The time he took off in rounds last night made Hopkins like Ruslan Provodnikov.

I think that's a byproduct of Jennings' inexperience. Executing the details of his gameplan isn't second nature to him yet, so he'll spend time thinking and waiting for the perfect opportunity to take his shots. He's choosing his shots wisely, but the processing time isn't where it needs to be yet.

I agree that is in the ring of course. From what I've heard Jennings has an very high work rate (so to speak) while training so I think he could do for throwing more punches when he's in the ring. I think he was playing it very cautious last night especially for the first half of the fight and I was impressed with his defense at times. I think his punching power is underrated as well and he could be more deadly if he threw more combinations.

I think where he might have trouble would be fighting some taller guys but we shall see. Looking at Boxrec though Jennings does have a 84" reach which is really good for his height seeing as taller guys like Tyson fury having 85" and Wlad having 81" reach. Obviously he needs to take advantage of that reach and use his jab more, although he didn't jab as much in this fight as usual I don't think, maybe because of not being used to southpaws.

First off, Mitchell isn't better than Wilder. They both stink, but mitchell is done.

Secondly, just watched the fight. A bit biased bc I root for Szpilka, but I thought the first 4 rounds were split 2-2. The 5th I gave to Jennings and obviously the 6th. 7, 8, 9 were all close and 10 was Szpilkas until the knock down.

The key to this fight was the body punching by Jennings in the 6th. That took everything out of Szpilka and had a lasting impact the rest of the fight.

I think Szpilka can definitely come back strong if he learns to keep his hands up after he punches and pulls out and starts mixing up his shots more. I think he got desperate and started trying to pot shot Jennings in the second half, but he seems to have a tendency to do that. His movement is great for a heavyweight and I think maybe finding a new trainer that can capitalize on that and improve him in other ways would be best.

Jennings had a good showing and I think could be really good IF he improves his work rate. The throws FAR too few punches. Loved his body attack though.

Szpilka, prior to this fight was thought to be a big puncher. Jennings, didn't seem bothered with Szpilka's power at all. Looking forward to seeing who Jenning's next opponent will be. An Adamek, or some other Euro heavyweight, would be good.

At no pint in that fight did it appear that Szpilka was out lassing Jennings. He had some moments where he got the better of the exchanged and won the battle of real estate, but it was even , for all intents and purposes for about 4 rounds. From the. On on it was pretty much all Jennings. Convincing win for Jennings, who was simply the better fighter on the night.

At times in the fight Szpila reminded me of the dodge ball team "Skillz That Killz" in the movie Dodge Ball; he seemed more interested in looking cool than winning the fight, not that he was going to win anyway. Still a good win for Jennings, nonetheless.

That movie has been back on cable recently. Still hilarious.
