Chisora will win by early British stoppage. Johnson will take several punches on his gloves, and then the referee will wave off the fight. Johnson will stare in bewilderment, and his trainer will be livid.
Chisora will probably win by decision, but I voted for Johnson decision on the poll because its being misrepresented as a blowout for Del Boy. Fact is, with the possible exception of a pre completely shot Danny Williams, this would be Del Boy's biggest official victory (not counting victory in fact but not in name against Helenius). Del Boy's reputation is mainly from good losses he's had. For all the flak Johnson gets, his only losses have been against Vitali (nuff said), Fury (a 6'9 high volume top 5 HW), Hamer (in a close one in three rounds, who would arguably deserve to be undefeated right now if all his fights were only 3 rounds, was winning against Ruiz, about 50/50 in first three against Glazkov, not sure in his split decision loss to Price, but its likely) and Hammer (another close one that many thought he was robbed in). He's never been ko'd, he's beaten three world title challengers, and is one of the best defensive boxers around. He's boring and usually disappoints in big matches, yes, but he's still a credible, top 20 HW. Get over yourselves, haters, it's a real interesting match and while I like Chisora to win, given his recent performances against lesser opposition, Johnson has a solid chance.
I am under the possibly false impression that in order to win a boxing match you have to occasionally throw a punch. So in that case I am leaning toward chisora. Future side bet on Johnson ballooning up to 350 pounds after retirement.
If the odds are as wide as I think they will be I will throw 100 on KJ here for a late stoppage in what I expect will be a very boring and ugly fight - Chisora should win comfortably on activity alone but Im not 100% convinced he has the boxing smarts to out wit safety pin who can be dangerous once he gets comfortable - as we know - he likes to wait for an opponent to make a mistake and leave an opening and that's the only time when he will pounce - kilt and fury never made the mistakes but Chisora seems like the kind of guy who might actually fall for his traps.
Johnson looks his worst against boxers because he is a pure counter puncher and has zero mobility due to his appalling footwork, so can't cut off the ring at all against opponents who box him. Against a fighter like Chisora who will come straight at him and who will give him opportunities to counter he'll look better than he usually does. But Chisora will be too busy and simply too good for Johnson who is simply a gate keeper. I can't see how he'll keep Chisora away from him. He isn't mobile enough, won't fight back often enough and is not powerful enough to keep Chisora at a distance. Chisora by decision.
Johnson lacks the workrate to trouble Chisora. Plus he has zero infight game and his jab is just to lazy to keep Chisora away for long. Easy stay-busy fight for Chisora.
I agree. I've always been a fan of Johnson and expected him to become a serious contender or champion because he has the skill and talent. The problem is he just doesn't have it in him mentally. Its frustrating to see him lose to guys he should be beating because he won't throw punches. Chisora will beat Johnson by wide decision in a boring fight where Johnson spends more time covering up than letting his hands go.
