    Cool story CGay.

    Care to explain why "Pac" was brutally and embarrassingly KTFO by Mayweather's tuneup? You know... Being that he's "10 times the FIGHTER" and all. :yep

    So far Mayweather has won The ESPN, Yahoo, and BWAA fighter of the year. He's a shoe in to get the honor from The Ring.

    @Stylez G.

    No Donaire was not the most popular last year, but he was certainly being mentioned in the same breath as the Mayweather's and Pacquiao's until he lost. Mayweather's 2 victories were over opponents that he was favored to beat. Bradley was an example I used, never said he deserved it either, meanwhile you have fighters like A.Stevenson who've had a great year, with big wins in spectacular fashion against good opponents, but once again, no one outside of hardcore fans know who he is. Popularity in my opinion does play a role.

    Once again I'm not knocking Mayweather, he got the honor and that's great, but my opinion always has and always will be, that awards of this nature always involve the popularity factor, and for the record I thought Mayweather should have been awarded FOD, but there was that other guy who was more popular during that span.

    Tell me how it's possible for an award given out by a panel of boxing writers can become a popularity contest? This is not an ESPY award. As far as Stevenson, his two best wins were against guys coming off of losses. Dawson was absolutely destroyed in his previous fight. Cloud, had basically been coming off of two straight losses and had been inactive. Mayweather would get crushed for even fighting guys like that. Khan is basically on the level of Cloud(actually he's better), and look how much heat Mayweather is taking for even contemplating that fight.

    I've said it many times before (just not here, lol) and I'll say it again. One of the many problems for boxing is that many times the fans know more than those who cover it. Sadly, this is the proof.

    Not talking about casual fans who voted for him because they know his name better than any other, was talking about us hardcore fans.

    Pac is the only 8 division champion in history. Giving fighter of the decade to anyone else would have been an outrage.

    Absolutely, but Rigo isn't American. Lara is more deserving also with his wins over Angulo and Trout.

    What constitutes a hardcore fan? Because many on here seem to not know a lot about the sport. Anyone who bets regularly on the sport are the ones with the most objective opinion.

    Pac won two of those titles at a catchweights, and that 154 title was as bogus as a 7 dollar bill.
