Why Is Pulev So Avoided If He's Average?

Exactly, that's why I find ridiculous the "financial reward" argument. What bigger reward than gaining the mandatory spot? It doesn't make any sense.

U seem to forget the main reason people avoid fights nowadays. This fight won't give a huge payday to a fighter. And the risk to lose is high. Just to be outpointed in a boring way.
Also, I heard he met with Stiverne in amateur.. has anybody found a video?

Pulev recently said in an interview that the past 2 years his right hand has been injured constantly but he is not a person who like to moan and didnt say it because his enemies would know about that weekness so i guess he will start k.o people more often now .

I remember Fury saying how there was no money in a Pulev fight, he said something like 50-100 grand vs 5 million for the likes of Haye. Less than 100 grand sounds like a bit of an exaggeration. What sort of crowds does he attract?

I guess he's only 'average' because of the guys he's been in with, no one's really made him shine, so to speak. I'd like to see him in with one of the top 5 guys before Wlad, Povetkin would be a good choice, as would Jennings.

Hmm ... if Wilder hits him properly. Well If Thompson hits him properly, If Ustinov hits him properly, if Dimitrenko hits him properly, if even Paulie Malignaggi hits him properly. Love that word IF. If I was Batman ... but I`m not!
BTW I also thought if offensive fighter pressures him would give him hell but I am not so sure any more. He always responds great to attacks that have success against him. He is intimidating when he is hurt even a bit. I even think Chisora would be the easiest for him to beat because the Brit will rush all night into that left jab - easy target.

Hes avoided because hes good! end off, all the other heavyweights are just trying to cash in on a fight with Wlad, they wont fight him because he is a massive risk..
Look at Fury there is enough people who have challanged him off late and Pulev is better ranked.. HIGH RISK LITTLE REWARD>

Pulev is a very good boxer. Second best after Wladimir, together with Haye and maybe Povetkin IMO. As has been said, other contenders would most likely lose to him for not very good money. So it is understandable he is being avoided (hat down to Tony the tiger).
