Just out of curiosity, does anyone know the sleeping habits of any famous boxers, old school or new. I was reading an article about MMA fighter Nick Diaz, and was surprised to ready he only sleeps between 4-6 hours a night.
Just a curious question man, making conversation. It is actually pretty pointless for you to waste your time replying to something you deem as an irrelevant question, don't ya think?
nope, dont know, heard somewhere that audley harrison didnt sleep at all. he knew he would have a nice kip come fight night.
That's what I am saying man. It is interesting. I sleep like 7-8 hours a night, but think I function just as well, if not better on 6 hours. It is intriguing that some people, especially top level athletes can function on a very low amount of sleep with all the physical work they put in. I personally do not buy into the whole 8 hour theory, but that is just me.
I also kind of wonder if its all habit. If you could train your body to sleep less and just getting used to it.
Sleeping is when our bodies recover best from exercise and injury. Most professional sporting clubs are just as keen to ensure their players get the right amount of sleep as they are that the players train and exercise hard.
David Haye doesn't use any alarm clocks and will sleep for as long as his body tells him to. It's a important thing because when your physically active you should be allowing you body the right amount of sleep time it needs. You know yourself when you have not had enough sleep, you look and feel like hammer shite :tired
Arnold Schwarzenegger said 6 hours of sleep was optimal for muscle recovery etc. I feel like a giant baby, needing 8+ hours to function properly
How lucky David is! Sleep is very important for recovery after excersize, the more exercise you do the rest / sleep is very important if not as important as the excercise itself.
