"... People bang on about Golovkin's strength and power but, having shared a ring with him, I was most impressed by his boxing ability. His footwork is outstanding and he's got such good judgment of distance. His timing and accuracy are both exceptional. He wastes absolutely nothing. And he is a seriously devastating puncher with both hands, without really looking for it (the finish). The left hook that finished me broke my ribs and there was nothing i could do about it. It's the leverage that he generates rather than brute force that makes him so formidable... ... I think he'd be far too much for Carl Froch who likes to fight at mid and long range himself. Andre Ward... has the style to give Golovkin big problems. That would be a very intriguing fight. ... Unless you're a middleweight Guillermo Rigondeaux.... the worst possible thing you could do against Golovkin would be to try to outbox him. ... jab and footwork is far too good...." see more at World Boxing News.
Macklin would make an excellent TV pundit, he is intelligent and articulate. As it happens though, the recently retired Brit media darling, Barker, who is neither, will probably grab that gig.
Macklin is a clever guy and has done a good bit of media work in the past, but you're right mate, Barker seems to be the Brit media darling, lovely guy and everything but thick as pig ****.
Very good, i like how he said you need to be middleweight Rigodeaux to outbox him, to be fair Rigo is far better boxer than him, and Ward would beat him.
GGG doesn't get enough credit for his boxing skills. People want to talk about his power as if he is just a brawler. I think he beats Froch and Ward. Clinching won't save Ward in that fight.
This is obvious to everyone apart from GGG haters, his boxing skill is very impressive but people just see power.
:gooddeal The only legit fights for Golovkin are Ward and Froch @ 168, period. right now 3G is cruising @ MW till he'll have a shot @ Sergio's title.
Guillermo Rigondeaux is a far better boxer than this hypejob. A middleweight Rigondeaux would have this kid on skates the entire fight, he would land nothing. That being said, Andre Ward beats this kid to pulps. There's a reason why GGG is avoiding Ward like the plague.
