I know Cotto was a class act at the lighter weights but who has he beaten at Light Middle? As for Canelo he has that win against Trout but he had an epic struggle to achieve that. After seeing the way Lara toyed with Trout I do wonder if and the way these two had so many problems I do have my doubts about them both. I know styles make fights but when you think about it what have they done. Kirkland, Andrade, Lara, Vanes and Molina all deserve a higher rating in my opinion.

cottos 4 year junior middleweight reign of terror

Yuri Foreman - (28-0) (not 1 name on his list of wins you would recognize)
Ricardo Mayorga 29-7 (lost 4 out of last 6)
Antonio Margarito 38-7 (lost 2 out of last 3)
    Mayweather - LOST
    Trout - LOST
    D Rodriguez 28-6 (won 3 out of last 6)

the 4 wins in 4 years came against guys with a combined 20 losses
anytime he stepped up he got schooled

cotto either beat shot old fighters like mayorga and margarito or never was guys like drod and foreman.....

Cotto has done nothing since his beatdown by wraps of stone Tony Margarito. I feel sorry for him because that beating may have taken a lot out of him, or he just wasnt good good enough above 140 where he was very successful.

When I first saw Canelo edging out Trout in a close fight I thought he must be decent because Trout beat Cotto but then when I thought about it what has Cotto done at LMW? I think Mayweather exposed Canelo and looking at it now he was probably built up for that very purpose. For all his talk about it being his "tiempo" he let Mayweather do the bare he had to do to win. At least with Kirkland you'd get a good 8 rounds of danger and with Lara you'd see a great technical battle and Cotto strugled with past versions of Mayorga and Margarito. I don't know if they'll lose their next fights but Cotto is rightfully an under dog and would need Martinez's knee to go early and Canelo is no formality either. If he wins a title at MW he won't hold it for long and I can't see him doing a great deal at SMW. Just another Broner/Chavez Jr.

When Austin Trout beat Miguel , the next day he quickly became the new face of boxing .

The praise this dude was getting was just unbelievable . I know everyone here remembers this.... People was talking as if he already took over boxing and was going to be the next boxing icon .

Canelo outclasses him , drops him , nearly knocks him out . Yet People swore up and down that Trout was going to destroy , dismantled , embarrased , exposed Canelo .

None of that happen . Now Canelo was never that good....

"I've no excuses, he was quicker, he was stronger, he was the better man. He was better than me," ***********.com quotes Trout as saying.

I dont remember Miguel struggling with either Mayorga or Margarito (2011)
Both guys were outboxed with ease .

Ricardo Mayorga was dominated by Miguels superior boxing ability .

Miguel is a 7 rnd fighter , he often gasses and retreats in the championship rnds . Thats typical Cotto , he always does that .

Despite being gassed , Margarito still only won 1 rnd on my scorecard and was losing badly .
