It was shown all over and while I'm no expert(Klompton) I believe it attracted large audiences. It wasn't the same as the surviving clips, I understand they came from a bootlegged version-shot from a cigar box or is that just another boxing myth?
1899, I wonder if there was anything which could properly be called a 'cinema' (i.e., devoted primarily to the exhibition of film)? I suspect that local theatrical and musical venues were adapted to displaying films.
