You've all seen it when Hopkins pulls that horrible crybaby face :crybaby in many of his fights and feigns injury in the hope that the referee will stop the fight?

Why does he have no conscience about robbing his own fans of the hard earned money they have spent on watching him either in the crowd or on PPV? :huh

Cus he's a dirty *******, but because he is an American legend he gets a pass and its just fobbed off as "veteran moves"

Hopkins can fake injury and use dirty tactics all he likes, but heaven forbid Joe Calzaghe doesn't turn all of his punches completely over

    Spot on.

Hopkins is a dirty cheating *****

Have you ever heard a radio interview with him? He comes across as the most charismatic guy on the planet who's legacy means everything to him. Then you see the way the dirty **** behaves in the ring :-(

Great technical boxer and great he's so old and still able to get out bed in the morning, but the other side of him shouldnt just be glossed over

that turns me off to a fighter...its cheap and he tried it against Calzage to get some rest and at that point i knew he was trying to get some cheap points or a DQ

He feigns injury sometimes, but I wouldn't say he looks to quit. The man is a ATG and they are 'veteran moves', not things as fans that we want to see but sometimes 'smart' none the less. He cares about the win, and getting every advantage he can.

Veteran moves? When is cheating a "veteran move"?

I guess loading your gloves is a veteran move. So is taking Roids, huh?

    CHEATING IS CHEATING!:deal

loading your gloves and roids are another level entirely. they are physical boosts that are cast iron proof of cheating, so its impossible to include them no, you should be smart enough to work that out yourself.

veteran moves are basically mind tricks that are very dirty, and they carry the stamp of ambivalence, was it a cheat or not? - that the ref cant ascertain at the time nor easily with video evidence,. neither calzaghe nor Hopkins when they cheated in that way could expect to be reprimanded for their misdeeds, but then neither should feel proud at all about them.

lets look at their comparative reasons for cheating
    - joe cheated because he never have the skill level to contend with bhop.
-bhop cheated because he no longer had the lungs to contend with the still well engine calzaghe

I don't thing either is an excuse tbh. if you don't have the skill to beat someone then don't fight them, or wait till they are very old so that you can beat them. If you don't have the lungs anymore then don't fight someone with high fitness.

As to who is the biggest cheat, well, Hopkins cheats more IN fights as he ages.
Whereas Joe cheated more throughout his early and mid career, fighting weaklings and arranging early stoppages when they weren't even hurt via paying the ref.
I am not sure which is worse.

Well then this thread should be about Abner Mares.

He has blatantly "cheated" more times in a handful of fights than all of Hopkins' career.
